My complaint is with the csshiers, very slow in the evenings, this store ALWAYS has long lines. But one specific cashier really made me mad, middle aged Hispanic or white guy. I was in the 15 items or less line last Friday. There were about 3 people in front of me, all buying liquor, all looked to be in their early 20s. He greeted them, was friendly with them, didnt card them, asked them if they wanted a paper or plastic bag. When its my turn, he lets out a deep sigh, didnt say hello, never said a word. When it came down to the wine I was buying, he quickly asked for my ID, which I already had in my hand, then stared at it for at least a full minute. Gave it back to me, says " do you want a bag or what" ummm sure, I swipe my card. I look up and he gives me a handle less paper bag. When I said "I wish I had the option for paper or plastic" his response was "well you should have asked" . This was seriously my first time interacting with this guy, I have no idea what his problem was. I was dressed very nice but casual, didnt look like a bum. And I looked my age, late 30s, so I dont know what his problem was.

As I have in the past, I bought the 8 pieces of chicken for $5 that is offered on $5 Friday. I was told by the deli staff that the store did not have the usual container for the chicken. I was offered to have the chicken put in a bucket, which I accepted Upon arrival home, I found that the plastic cover put on the bucket is too small for the circumference of the bucket and it popped off, allowing the chicken to spill in my trunk. The staff had folded part of the circumference over to make the plastic cover fit. I called to tell the service manager about this issue and was given excuses and finally an apology and an offer to come back to the store to get more chicken. I think the store should not run out of the regular container to start with and should not offer excuses, but solutions. Ugh!! Im done with this store. Staff are not friendly. Service is marginal.

When this Vons first opened I was excited! I liked the design, very urban with parking on roof, seemed large and with potential to be a new favorite. It has been a disappointment ever since. Still like the design, but the offerings are subpar, and often cant find the products (brands, variety, etc) that I want. It has bland offerings dressed up like a good market. I miss the Albertsons on Long Beach Blvd. SO MUCH! I usually go to Ralphs on 4th now for a local market. I went this Vons yesterday, in the neighborhood, and needed a few basics. Bought apples, which are good, but I realized this morning the cheese I bought (fancy $8 cheese) is ALMOST a MONTH expired! I will be taking it back. I assume they will refund my money. But that is really just typical of my experience with their products. I guess I am glad they still exist there, but really miss Alberstons downtown.

Very busy store. If u need an exotic item they probably have it but good luck trying to move around in the store. Very crowded and narrow aisles. Store staff never around if u have a question. Have to ask for bathroom code and good luck finding an employee who will stop to give it to u. The Starbucks has major ISSUES at this store. They have gone through staff bc they r very rude to customers and I have reported it constantly. Unless its the manager or one of the long-term employees the drinks r never made right. Its hit and miss. The younger staff talk to the security guard esp the girls instead of helping customers so u can wait in line for 15 minutes it more w no one there ahead if u. Its ridiculous.

The store itself is fine although pricey. But I decided to write this review after walking out of there without my groceries for the third time. The lines at checkout are ridiculous! They never have enough checkers and they dont care if the lines are snaking through half the store - they do not open more lines. Employees seem overwhelmed, are overworked and unfriendly. Try to get someone to open the locked restrooms for you! I left after standing way back in the line and nothing moving for 10 minutes. Go to the nearby El Super instead. Selection is not as good but its clean and bright, has about 15 checkout lines and is much cheaper. I saved $9 on a $40 purchase compared to Vons on the last visit alone

There is El Super, Superior and Vons in the area and Vons has all the bells and whistles. For selection, variety and availability this store has it all. Its open at 6 am and closes at midnight and features full service flowers, bakery, deli and meat departments. The produce section boasts a beautiful selection of organic fruit and veggies and a big ethnic food aisle delivers exotic flavors. The store also has a Starbucks, a fresh made-to-order sandwich counter and several other value-added services are at this store. And last but not least there is upper level parking that you enter from Atlantic Avenue in this parking congested neighborhood.

Wish I could say 0!!! Ok so, I understand everyone isnt into smoking. That doesnt make me a 2 nd class customer because I smoke!! Although, I passed all the liquor specials on my way to the register!! Liquor I feel is equally as harmful!!! I had a coupon in my hand, I was kind of their off by her saying before anything oh no no we dont take tobacco coupons!!! I bet I couldnt redeemed a Miller lite coupon though!! So, she goes over to the cigarette cabinet gets the cigarettes, rings them up $9.25!!!!! Oh no no Im not posting that!!! Ill wait! Vons along with CVS is on my shop only if extreme emergency, due to their stand on cigarettes!!

My bagger sucked, it was obviously not the job for him... either training bagging skills is not a prioraty, i come here once a week and mostly end up bagging my own groceries because of short staffed, so i got excited to get service....Not! hot chicken on top of cold turkey and cheese All the heavy stuff in the smallest bag all the chips fluff in one bag i wish i could of had this kid carry my groceries home see if could learn how he sucked. Not to mentioned not getting my 2.00 coupon because i couldnt get into the stupid app! Im being nice giving 3 stars because at least everything rang up the correct price.

This store is ridiculously expensive. When I can buy Ocean Spray cranberry juice (64fl.oz) at Franks on Broadway and Alamitos for $2 less than at Vons on Broadway... something aint right. This store is always a nightmare to check out. Their 3 is a crowd at the check out lines is a joke! Everytime I end up shopping here I immediately regret it due to the outrageous hiked up prices, the usual out of stock issues and the long slow checkout lines. Do yourself a favor and drive a bit further to one of the other grocery stores in the neighborhood. See for yourself the $2 to $3 differences on everyday grocery items.
