I have lived in Lodi my entire life and have always shopped at Discount Pets for any/all of my pets needs until now. I recently acquired an adult Corn Snake and was told to feed him 1-2 reg. sized feeder mice per week. Now I understand the Discount Pet breeds and sells feeder mice, so I went in to purchase just 1 and received the worst customer service Ive ever had. One of the girls working there stated that she would not "Pick a mouse to die." She said this several times. So I asked another worker and his response was similar, "Someone will probably get it for you." Is what he said. Long story short, I ended up standing there for 45 mins while 5 workers just looked at eachother in disgust because I wanted a feeder mouse for my snake. Totally made me feel like a murderer for trying to feed my pet. I ended up leaving empty-handed, they have lost my business. Go to the Serpentarium instead!

I went here looking to buy snails to keep my fish tank clean, up to this point id had 3 goldfish, all in perfect health for the past year... I decided to possibly get a new fish or two while I was there. The aquarium attendant that was there suggested 2 Gouramis as safe fish to have with goldfish. after 3 days the gouramis seemed safe with my goldfish, but a few days later they began viciously attacking the goldfish, I removed the gouramis and beagan treating the goldfish but all 3 died within a day... after placing the gouramis back in the tank they began to attack each other and quickly died. I am out 5 fish, 3 of which had great sentimental value, because of poor information on the part of one employee from Discount Pet...

Great people work here and they carry a wide selection of items. Animal friendly establishment complete with treats for the doggies. Offer many services like chain stores without that "chain store service." Manager is awesome...truely cares about animals.

Had kind of a bad experience with them. ordered a couple of things and it took for ever and a day to get to the store. Then when we picked it up, it was the wrong size. That being said never all that busy.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Took my bag of cat food out to the car for me without asking. I think it is a little overpriced but about average as far as a pet store.
