I went to the Cotton Patch last week and boy did I have the time of my life. It’s changed so much since the last time I have been there. Its been several years. I got a parking place right in front. I was delightfully greeted by a gal as soon as I walked into the door. This place is a gem so to speak. I found the exact pattern I was looking for and that was a relief! Im the type of person that likes to feel the texture of the fabric. To gain a sense of what type of material I would like to make for my precious new quilt. Basically when I got home I had everything I needed and then some. I saved money on gas because I didnt have to drive all around trying to find all the stuff to make my quilt. I like to start things off right from the start. And needless to say I was pleasantly surprised by making it home in a timely manner and beating all of the traffic. And my husband and I were able to have dinner on time. Later I ended up watching TV and browsing there website with my iphone. I ordered some more fabric, patterns and signed up for a class as well. I figured I better get my other Christmas gifts started on time this year. Its super easy!!

My husband and I visited The Cotton Patch on Friday 10-8-10. I was very excited because my dentist recommended this store as one of the best fabric stores to buy unique fabrics. When we walked into the quaint little store we were met by a grimacing woman who immediately asked us what we were looking for. We explained we just wanted to look around a little and if we had questions we would let her know. This woman proceeded to follow us around the store and ask us repeatedly what we were looking for. After about 5 minutes of this we were so uncomfortable we just left the store without looking at much of anything. Oh, and did I mention we are people of color? This was a very traumatic experience for us both. Never have we ever had such an overtly discriminatory experience. I would say this was definately a cotton patch experience, with us doing the picking.

Friendly staff and great selection of sewing machines and fabrics. Great classes too. They sell Bernina, Janome, and Handi-Quilter sewing machines. They also service all machines.
