Disgruntled Student
Biola students, DO NOT buy your books through the Biola Campus Store. Not only are the books outrageously expensive, they are often unjustly so, and many times, not in stock. As a student at Biola, and as a friend to someone who has worked at the Book Store, I can tell you firsthand that it is a disaster. No one knows what theyre doing, and not due to their own incompetence, but because of the appalling management at the store. My source at the Book Store has told me that web orders pile up, are often left unattended for long periods of time, and are sometimes lost. Buy your books on Amazon, or some other online/used books store, because the Campus Store will overcharge you and waste your time. Also, be prepared to spend 50+ dollars on a sweatshirt to represent your school. Worth it? Maybe. Ethical? Debatable. You can do better, Biola.

In the time that I spent at Biola, a school I otherwise enjoyed, the bookstore added so much stress and grief, more so than if I had just purchased my books elsewhere. Dropped orders, books that they tried to charge me twice for and then didnt give me a complete refund when it was their mistake. Plus, severely overpriced books. The books are frequently out of stock at the beginning of the semester and for weeks after that. The management at this store is a joke. The employees themselves are great, but the bookstore as a whole is a terrible experience. I avoided purchasing anything of an important or time sensitive nature from them and so should you. Get your books from Amazon and save the stressing for finals.

Dear Biola student, I realize that it may be convenient for you to sell back your textbooks here at the end of the year, but dont do it! I, and other students, have been ripped off. If you want to get the best price selling back your books, send them to amazon or other sites if you can. Amazon has a program in which you can send your books to them, they pay for shipping, and they will credit you the money. In my experience, the bookstore did not want to buy back a book I had purchased from them, but I got $60 from Amazon. Also, do your research and try to get your textbooks from other sites. Good luck A Biola Student

Dont buy your books from the Biola Bookstore, all the prices will be over-inflated. You will end up spending hundreds of dollars and when you go to sell them back you will only get a fraction of what you spent (this isnt unique to Biola, thats just the nature of a campus bookstore). Buy your books secondhand, your classes wont even require that you read half of them anyways, so who cares if they are used.
