This is my favorite place to play Magic: the Gathering on Friday nights in the region. Why? Everyone is super friendly, a decent mix of competitive/casual players, and the format rotates every week (Usually Standard/Modern/2HG/Draft/Standard/etc). They never charge an entry fee except for Limited events. They sell premium products like From the Vault to regulars at MSRP. Downsides: No singles selection so you have to buy cards for your decks somewhere else, unless you like opening Booster Packs. Play area is pretty small, they really need to invest some more floor space for games because if 30 people show up some people are playing without seats! Also it really irks me that sometimes the TO will not run the final round if it is already very late in the evening but others might disagree with me there I guess. Would recommend...except this place is already packed to the brim with players!

I dont know what some of these other reviews mean but this IS a hobby store... they have a good range of RC stuff...I didnt see any bored games. I went in just to see if they had a Lipo battery for my RC Heli and walked out with a Venom 7.4V 2000mAh battery for $24 and the price on eBay was 24.98 so all and all I have to say their prices seem decent...The staff seemed pretty bored as I was the only one in the store but the guy behind the counter was quick to answer my questions and didnt seem to mind helping a n00b. Will go back when I cant wait for it off eBay.

Hobby Town used to be a great place for RC stuff. Customer service was outstanding. Now it has gone downhill so bad. Requested them to order a part for me and two weeks later no update from them on status. I called several times and was told it was in cross shipment. Called again and told no order in system for me. I will take my business back to the internet for part purchases I can wait on. Steve the owner I hope you read this and take a hard look at the new staff training and customer service values.

This is the best toy and hobby store in Folsom, hands down! They have tons of stuff for kids and the only buildabear place around. They do fundraisers to support local food banks. The owner is really great at helping find a specific gift or toy for children of specific ages. Also, if there is something I am looking for, I can ask them and if they can get it, they will special order it. Staff is friendly. Selection is great. My kids love this store and we support local businesses.

15% restocking fee for unopened box...My wife and I had spent over $700 at this store in the last 4 months. After Christmas we returned one item ($150) that was unopened. They insisted on charging us a 15% restocking fee. I would understand a restocking fee if an item is returned opened, but this is a simple money grab. The people that run the store are foolish if they think consumers dont notice and more importantly dont remember policies like this. I will never be back.

This has got to be the worst so called hobby store,its a toy store! they have a very limited selection of r/c stuff,they seem to be into r/c cars,if you ask for help cause you have to! if it dose not relate to cars they point ,oh its over there or no we dont have it! Wont be back again,and will not recommend it to anyone!

I have purchased a bunch of board games here and the service was always friendly. Even asking if Ive played related games. They have a clearance section that might turn up good deals, if you check back frequently. Much better experience than a Wal-Mart would give you, any day! Support your local hobby shop!

I bought an rc car here but within the first day the Moter broke they did replace it but the steering servo broke the day after they refused to replace it so I had to spend $24 on a new one but they gave me the wrong part now I have to bring the car in and replace the servo with the one I bought

My two kids and i have been coming here for 6 years niw. Its the best hobby shop in the area... good variety and good prices. Most of their staff are knowledgable of their products.... and all are very friendly. Repairs can take some time, but otherwise this place is great.

Great store for just about any RC hobby but there are other products to buy as well. Helpful staff, easy to get someone to help, really clean and easy to shop. They have Friday night geek nights. I love that the new owners have energized this store

The new owners have totally revamped the place. 1-30-17 i went in to find tires for one of my cars and needed a small part for one of my shocks and the owner opened a small case he had and gave it to me free of charge. 5 stars for that alone!

Great shop! I wish they had more robotics, but their R/C area is fantastic! I went in yesterday looking for an odd battery connector and they found it for me! Its a great place to find projects for the kids! Support local hobby shops!

Great locally owned hobby store. They are a little more expensive than on line but its worth getting the advice and the instant access to RC car parts. This location has a ton of toys including education toys disguised as fun toys.

From the outside this store looks like any hobby store but they stock a large depth of products, packaged in sensible amounts to purchase. Add to this first rate staff who know their products very well and you have a great store

Excellent selection of board games and kids toys. Awesome for stocking stuffers or gift baskets. Lots of cool demos to play with. The 15% restocking fee is no longer enforced.
