This is a really handy market to have in the neighbourhood. Its a great place to pick up staple produce items--fresh herbs, onions, limes--and more regional groceries--pomegranate molasses and dairy for days. When you catch their produce on sale, it is affordable to a nearly unreal degree. The BEST part of this market is the deli and bread! They bake sangak fresh and a handful of other breads. They also make a ton of cold and hot foods. Its all really good and made in-house, which is a serious selling point for me. Their hummus is creamy and rich, and they are the ones who introduced me to mirza ghasemi, which is this phenomenal eggplant + egg dip. They have a sweets case that is beautiful to look at, although I have not yet taken the plunge. I have, however, recently given their butchery a try--those were some quality lamb shanks!

Great Middle-Eastern bakery and supermarket. Try the three foot long edible lavash "tablecloth." Hint: Tear a small piece of lavash. Holding the pastry between the thumb and fingers, pinch a small amount of food piled on the center of the lavash. Heres the tricky part. Careful bring the food to your mouth and enjoy. A little messy at first but, it gets easier, fast. And no laundry... Sabzee has a good selection of Middle- Eastern foods and fresh fruits and vegetables. Theres helpful, knowledgeable employees to answer questions about your adventures selections. Wheelchair accessible. Easy free parking.

I always shop here and always they are friendly and they welcome you with smile but today i was very disappointed with their new cashier. I was waitting in line and the young girl that i saw her for the first time, she looked at the lady behind me and says; i can take you next and the lady came from behind me and went to the cashier, i told the girl that i am in front of her and you should take me next but she lied and said, " i said who is next " and she turned her face and continue helping the lady, so disappointed that they hire people with absolutely no experience and absolutely zero manners.

A few months ago i went to this store and ordered a Ghorme Sabzi the ugly woman charged me 11 dollars and gave me 2 pieces of beans three pieces of rice and no meat . she stole my money and gave me nothing you are scrooges you are thieves and I Never went back thete and I will never go there. in general. The whole Encino population are bunch of assholes and jerks and i just hate living in Encino.

The cashiers are the laziest workers I have ever seen. They wait and just look at you to bag your own bags and never help you to put your bag in your basket. Horrible service. The bread makers think they have such a high position at work it is beyond ridiculous.

Ok market for last minute forgotten items, but make sure you carry extra pennies when you go here. God forbid, if you are short a penny. If you are short for a penny, expect 0.99 cents in change back even if you shop there everyday. Rude cashiers!

Actually when we visited there, we were disappointed. There were just some Persian foods. There were few other Mediterranean foods (Turkish or Greek...) It is not very different than other markets. They should expand the range.

Great variety of produce, cheeses, fresh bread including Sagnak, a deli, hot food, a bakery and hard to find items from the middle East. Great service as well. The Sagnak was delish, worth the wait.

I mainly come for the cooked food they offer. Chicken Kebab is delicious! And Sangak bread is freshly made which makes it an excellent treat with the Yogurt dill or yogurt shallot dip you can get there.
