The nicest pharmacist ever! I cant actually remember the last time anyone even pretended to care if I needed my meds. Walgreens no longer has any 24 hr. pharmacies closer than the south shore of Alameda (really). Dont believe the hype; they are more than happy to change the pharmacy hours as they please, which is obviously their prerogative, but it is generally considered to be bad-ish business to do so, yet fail to make the necessary changes in their app or on the phone. Enough about Walgreens; theres a very easy alternative. Go to this CVS, get what you need, even if you have literally come running in when the pharmacy is locking up. It was really, really kind when I ran in (yeah, late like usual), not once, but twice, and didnt get sent home empty-handed after the last-minute dash. What truly impressed me was the fact that the second time I ran in at the last minute, I saw them locking up, but it wasnt an urgent thing at the time, so I simply asked him what time they were open the next morning. I needed a few odds and ends from the store, and unbelievable: he approached ME and asked if I knew if my meds had been physically filled? I had confirmed that, and he walked back to the pharmacy, let himself in, and rang up my meds for me. I was stunned... its been such a long, long time since I left this pharmacy totally blown away by the fact that I had actually just been treated like a human, by a human. If there was a reason to complain, it was the annoying line at the front registers. They solved it before very long, but not before I found my eyes rolling, a lot. Which I really hated, because the pharmacist was such a superhero, and there I was, 20 minutes later, being irritable about waiting what probably was 5 minutes. Life is hard for a very cynical person sometimes. So seriously, it sounds so ridiculous, but this CVS made me feel like a ridiculous jerk. They actually care enough to try and help you.

Worst pharmacy in the area! The automated services contacted me to say my refill was ready. When I arrived to pick up the Rx, the rude lady at the pharmacy said she couldnt find my order so I showed her the text where CVS says come pick it up. She researches and says my coverage has lapsed and to bring in a new card. I call my insurance company who assures me the # I was using is the correct one. I return the next day for my blood pressure medicine. Two gentlemen tell me the same thing as before; I try to stress to them that Id just called my insurance and all was well,, but they would not give me my medicine. I explain that Ive been without my bp pills for over 2 days now and my insurance says its fine, but to no avail. I say "so you guys are just going to allow me to DIE?" he says "there is nothing I can do now because its too late and your insurance carriers office is closed now, but I will call them tomorrow morning and get back to you. Then the pharmacist says "I can sell you 1 or 2 pills to hold you until I call your insurance in the morning". I say ok, because I know the cash price for 30 pills is $21, so I can afford 1 or 2 pills; he then tells me $11 for 2 pills. Astonished, I tell him that that is ridiculous; how can 30 pills be $21 and 2, $11, its not mathematically sound. Anyway, I go away again without my medicine. The next day I waited until after 3pm for a call from the CVS pharmacist but none came, so I contacted my insurance carrier AGAIN and explained what CVS is saying/doing. They said they did not know why CVS was treating me in that manner and had to call them and tell them that there IS no new number and to give me my RX. Really really slow service in the pharmacy. 1 person doing nothing, 1 pharmacist counting pills in the back, and 1 person handling prescription drop offs (who seems to be hitting 1 key into a computer for about 10 minutes per person). Dreadful. Update: (2 years later) Still horrible service. I have been getting the same prescription here for nearly 4 years. The past 4 times Ive gone to refill it: "oh we dont have it in stock, should be here next week." Last month, they told me to go somewhere else because it will take too long. I told them Ill wait and go ahead and place the order. I get home, check the website and the prescription is ready. I was so mad, I complained to their HQ and someone called me back and apologized and reassured me it would never happen again and they will always have my medication ready. I went in yesterday: "oh we dont have that in stock, should be here in 3 days." Going to try Targets pharmacy next time. Pretty much done with this store.

One of the worse pharmacies... I live close do i have been there quite few times and they always change any prescription to generic CVs drugs..and they always make mistakes...most often they give you less pills..than prescribed..unbelievable..

I know what youre thinking: "its a CVS, how bad could it be?" You have no idea. Take a few steps inside, pick up one item and try to leave in anything less than 30 minutes. I dare you.

Not the safest location as panhandling out front is rampant. Park closer to the front get do your business and leave. Funny characters lurking around and smiling at you.
