Most memorably disappointing service ever. One young man working at this location managed to ruin the credibility, reputation of management, and chain store brand all at once, and here is how he did it. So I walked into this store to return one of the two filter wrenches I bought, I kept the one that worked for me and wanted to return the one that doesnt go into my toyota due to limited space next to the engine. I have never used this wrench, I swear to God, as a matter of fact this was the first time it came out of the plastic bag it came in. I was told at the pep boys at Rowland Height, near my job that I would be able to return the one that didnt work and I can return it at any pep boys. Being an agent of pep boys employees, I trusted that sales person. Well, within the first three sentences with the young man working at this El monte location, I was commanded, yes, not asked nicely, but commanded in the exact words of "Go to that other store you bought it at." Way to ruin your chain store image BTW. Next I explained that this was one of two wrenches I bought, and the round one works and so I didnt bother with this one, I am keeping the other one and returning this one. Then he accused that I used the tool. Great way to insult a customer. I explained that as shown on the receipt I bought two and am keeping the one which works, but no, insult continued. I asked him rhetorically, why would I use this one when it is the other one that works on my car. He replied with a flavor of discrimination asking why would you? I have never felt so insulted, why would management at this store hire some one who does not even know how to be polite let alone nice. This young man discredited his management by showing no qualities of customer service, he denied the reputation of pep boys by refusing to fulfill a commitment made by another agent of pep boys, and last but not least, he completely ruined the image of the chain store that is pep boys. Please stop sending me any advertisement material regarding pep boys in this community, as far as I am concerned, this store is out of business forever. I hate this store because this one single incident, I have had my battery changed and bought many things which I needed in this store in the past, but I will never buy anything here in the future, ever again. Thanks alot for hiring some one who lowers the quality of the entire store.

Will not be going to this pepboys again even though I live down the street. Well its Friday I get out of work noticed I had a flat and no spare, I know what an idiot. Well i had tow truck come pick me up and take me to pep boys from my work. I arrived at pepboys at 715 pm the shop and store closes at 8 pm it states on the website and their signs at shop. As soon as the mechanics at the shop see the tow truck pulling in the manager starts flagging another worker down to help him close the sheds to the shop. As soon as I noticed them I got out and and told them why are they closing he had no answer he completely ignored me and started walking away. So I shouted at him"hey whats your name? Are you the manager? " he still ignored me and walked inside the shop lobby and made a call. Totally unprofessional and no customer service skills. I know its Friday and everyone wants to leave, but you not leaving until you clock out smh. They just lost 1 customer, all I wanted was new tires. .smh

Took truck for service. One of the advisers said therell a 1+hour wait to be pulled in. I told him about my scheduled appointment and the truck was taken right in. What really caught my attention was when a second customer came in for a oil change and a battery check. He was told the same thing about the wait time. Then he replied with, just to do a battery check? Same wait he was told. The second service adviser right away says, Ill check your battery after Im done with this paperwork. He didnt have to do that job but he took the initiative and helped the customer by saving him time or just simply letting him drive away to another shop.

After waiting at the service counter for over 5 minutes I had to go to the front register and request assistance, Although I could hear the giggling and laughter of young ladies in the back Room (instead of assisting Customers). Needless to say they didnt have the part that I needed, but the young man that assisted me recommended how to go about finding the part I did I need it.

Pepboys El Monte Service center is the best service center in Southern CA! They have a very knowledgeble staff with great personality. They are very honest and real straight forward with any issues your car might have. I have my personal use vehicles and company fleet go to only this PepBoys location. You can acutally trust the mechanics!

Employees seem to always be laughing amongst themselves which seems bad in front of customers who are waiting to be helped. I personally dont mind it too much but Im putting myself in the shoes of other people.

The service department is HORRIBLE. They dont call you when theyre done, you have to be calling them. They have taken twice as long on both occasions for my repairs.
