I came into this jeweler by accident, I looked at rings and let them know what my price range was. They continued to show me a ring that was 3k over my budget (their first mistake). Theyve been in business for many years, they should know that offering a customer something completely out of their price range will leave them disappointed and will not drive them to buy. I considered the ring for a few days, even leaving a deposit. I debated purchasing it primarily because of the price, secondly because of the fact that it did not have a GIA certificate (or any certificate for that matter). They told me they could get me a cert. but *I* would have to pay $500 to get it. Why would I ever do that? when I can go somewhere else and get a diamond that already has a certification? I visited 3 other different jewelers... who all told me the same thing, for the size, color and clarity of the stone they were offering me, 9k was far too much. I returned to get my deposit back, at this time Ray continued to "inform" me (very condescendingly) "if you purchase it cheaper somewhere else, youre also getting cheaper quality". Really how is that so? If Im purchasing from an educated, certified gemologist a stone that is 2 steps UP in color and the same clarity as what you were offering me, yet $3,000 cheaper... and also from Belgium... how is that cheaper quality? Oh because "we stand behind your stone, no one will replace it like we will". Hello! thats what people pay insurance for... Im sure you wont replace it if it gets stolen, Ray! I cant forget to include Debbie, Rays mother who was very rude to my 2 year old on the first day I visited (she asked her to get off her "very expensive" dated 1980s stools). As I left, she asked me why I wasnt purchasing from them (really, do I owe you an explanation??) I told her, first its too expensive, second, my fiance really insist we buy something with a GIA certification. She said "well we can get a certificate"... Yeah, Debbie, I know that... Im not willing to shell out an extra $500 for something I feel should already be included. I must say, Fonda was very very nice and a pleasure to deal with... I would really say she should work somewhere else where she wouldnt have work around jacka$$es.

BEST LOCAL JEWELRY STORE. The staff is awesome, they care about small purchases and do high quality custom work on site. AWESOME STAFF. As a younger person Im used to walking into jewelry stores and either being ignored, or getting the unrealistic sales push, but that was NEVER the case at The Diamond Center. They encouraged me to try things on, made me feel welcome and wanted, and all of that BEFORE I purchased anything!! Everyone I have spoken to was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and FUN! Fonda, and Ray are especially awesome and yes, of course they want to make sales - but who doesn’t?!?! The Diamond Center makes sales by being on budget, educational, and again FUN - never pushy. SMALL PURCHASES. My first purchase was a gold chain - and I made Ray work looking for something that was just perfect!! He didn’t just show me his stock (as other stores had) he checked all his sources and in the end, he found me the right chain, at the right price! It was A LOT of work for so small an item - but he did it with a smile. CUSTOM WORK. I’ve also had items made at The Diamond Center. They came in under my budget and went way above and beyond my expectations. I uploaded a picture so you can see my drawing and what they did. Because they improved my design to make it safer and more beautiful and what I ended up with was far better than what I was hoping for. All the work is done on site - which is really important to me. I know my items are safe in their store, and not going anywhere. Other stores in the area send items away for even simple repairs. In this bad economy, it’s nice to know the work is done locally, by a local family owned business, and they aren’t wasting time or risking my items with travel. I’m a Diamond Center customer for life. All my experiences have been high quality, under budget, and fun. What more can you ask for?

This is an amazing store in downtown Claremont. This is a family run and friendly jewelry store with beautiful products and great sales people. They also carry Maurice Lacroix watches that are beautiful. You will get great service, honest sales help and great prices. A fun place to shop!
