I realize the economy stinks but does the customer service at this store also have to stink? I stood in line with six others to have material cut while two employees stood at the front check out line. One employee was working while the other (a older blonde lady who I believe is either the manager or ? as shes been there a while) gossiped about her life. When I approached them and asked for some help at the cut table I was told to wait. I did and watched from a distance as the employee continued on with her conversation like the customers didnt matter and it was several minutes before she came back to help the other cutter who had called four times for help while I stood there and was put off each and every time. I shouldnt as the customer have to go and find a clearly over whelmed employee some help from her fellow employees! This is NOT a matter of the customer being patient this is a matter of YOU have a job and customer service SHOULD be #1 while your at your job. You know the job you applied for, were given and are paid to perform. Lastly, if you dont like your customer service job then please let someone who does have your job so WE the customers can get our product and get out of the store.

I am really dosappointed in this store, not Joannes as a whole. The Chico store is the only one that consistently has items out of stock for weeks. They always say the same thing..."the isle is being reset" or "we just got truck". A few of the employees are great, they always do what they can to help and our knowledgeable. However, most of the employees are not trained properly and are not knowledgeable of products. I have been so upset about the inventory the last few weeks so I called and spoke with the manager refuses to accept accountability for inventory being consistently out of stock, "Its corporate that does the ordering". As a manager, it is your responsibility to let corporate know when a product is selling quickly and you need more of it. Multiple customers have noticed.

I have shopped at Joanns since the came to Chico, since their last remodel their store is a dump, they tried to cram to much into this store and downsized some of the key depts. instead of moving to a bigger location. I just went to the store in Redding, ca and was amazed at how clean and nice the store was, they had everything and more of what I needed. I just wish it was closer to me. I had begin to think that all Joanns were tired and run down like the Chico store is. if I had another choice in Chico I wouldnt go here! oh wait, there is Rabbit hole and Hunny run or even Walmart! and I dont work for any of the stores I listed.

The first time I visited, the clerk seemed knowledgeable, but was rude. The second time, the clerk admitted that she didnt even sew! Why work in a fabric store if you dont sew??? I thought I would save money shopping there, but in the end, I bought my fabric from Honey Run Quilters on Esplanade & made up the difference in the extra money I spent with the advice & expertise I received from the person who helped me. She gave me ideas that meant that I spent less at Honey Run than I wouldve at Joann.

I gave it a four star because of the high prices, but they did have different crafting supplies that I havent seen anywhere else. I got there right after they opened and the staff there was extremely helpful. I went there originally to but moreally acrylic paints, but unfortunately they really dont have a selection in that category. The store was clean and the shelves stocked.

I also had a negative experience the last time I visited my local store. There werent any clerks available on the floor to help customers and the wait at the fabric counter was taking 30 minutes or more! Then I had to stand in yet another line to pay. If there is another fabric store in your area, Id strongly suggest you shop there!
