I do all my shopping at safeway, Tons of deals and there is some great employees 60% of the time. The wait can be soooo long though, this is deff not a place for a quick in and out. Usually typically on a not so busy evening you wait 15 mins in line. I love that there is gas rewards and the gas station is right there in the same parking lot. BUT at this location there is a major issue with tweakers hanging out all over the entrance area and also a lot of homeless people. A man tried and get in my car before, another time a man followed me around the store and my son in the parking lot told me he was taking pictures of us, another time a man blocked me from trying to pull out of the parking area. I advise woman try not to go alone in the evening and at night, be aware of your surroundings! At night it is very bad here. I hate that Safeway does nothing about it.

This is a filthy location. I first shopped here in 03 and have marked its decline along with that of Carmichael in general; they have a Starbucks kiosk area inside where the bums hang out (which now closes off several hours before the store does, due to bum population); the outdated firmware on their wi-fi router always throws a security error when you connect. Its in a dilapidated strip mall (across from a less dilapidated plaza/strip mall on the west side of Manzanita) -- whoever owns the property is a slumlord. The "bicycling enthusiasts" and squeegee men fit right in. Since Safeway is a union shop they keep 1 person at the checkout then summon a rover when the line is extending back into the aisles. The in-store deli is OK and one of the few places to get a cheap breakfast sandwich, but not worth another star. Avoid.

Friendly people and average assortment of products. Strange that this Safeway, as well as the one on Madison always seem to have several items that are just not carried for some reason. I dont encounter that at Raleys or the Safeway in Folsom. What do I mean? What if you remember you needed an AC filter for the house and dont want to deal with Home Depot? Safeway does not have it, Rite Aid next door does. Like Blue Diamond Almond Coconut milk? No large ones in the refrigerated section, just Almond. Settle for the small boxes on the shelf.Things like that where I wonder why do they not have that particular thing. All in all an average supermarket, and as others have said they take some time to react when there are too few cashiers and the lines are getting long.

I called on Monday March 6th and placed a order with the bakery for a Birthday Cake. I was told they only needed 24 hours notice. I gave them 72 hours notice. I did not need it till today which is my husband Birthday. I received a call about two hours before I was to pick up the cake, and the said that they did not have any of the kind of cake I ordered. I asked if they had any a German Chocolate cake and she said yes and then I said there wont be a change for the new cake right. I was told the best they could do would be to give me 50% off. Im sorry but that is not acceptable when they had plenty of notice and they just acted like it was no big deal.

Earlier today I made my way up to my local Safeway Foods Store, where I proceeded up to their in store customer service desk and was just blown away by the level of kindness and helpfulness I had received. Lisa, the store employee that helped me load some money on my Visa pay as you go card was great! She treated my transaction as if I was loading a million dollars onto my card. Plus her sparking up some Holiday related conversation was nice as well. And this is why I keep come, and coming and coming back to this store! It felt nice to be made to be important......thank you Safeway and thank you Lisa!

Since they were bought out a few months back things have gone down hill a little. Never seems like they have quite enough staff working at whatever department or check out line you go to. Otherwise, I have been coming here for 2 decades for my vast majority of shopping and the workers are friendly and helpful. Done a decent job increasing their organic and gluten free but its still more of a get what you need usually, not a ton of gluten free options yet.

I sampled their salsa it was good so I bought some, ate some later that night and it didnt taste anything like what I had sampled in the store. It tasted very weird, I threw it out. It was a waste of $4. Their chips were good tho. They said they make the chips and salsa in the store at that very location and I highly doubt that but okay. And this woman tried to hustle me for money, told me a bald faced lie. So annoying.

Rudest deli experience and thats because of "Tricia" her name may be different but its a blonde lady whos name starts with a T. She snapped at me several times. I dont understand how some people can be so rude to someone they dont even know. Problem is, Safeway is union so this lady will never get fired but deserves to be. She even made sure to not give me the receipt. Hmm I wonder why??

Pretty much the type of customer service you expect at a grocery store. I have no complaints about the service, except I wonder sometimes what the hold time is on some of the food in the deli section. Once or twice Ive had food(specifically boneless chicken "wings" or tenders) that was harder than expected. But the people are nice enough.

They have days in which you can buy inexpensive meat in replacement for a good steak. Some items can be too pricey compared to Raleys. They dont have self check out so waiting time can be 10 minuyes or more if the place is crowded. Though it is a good alternative if your go-to market or grocery doesnt have what youre looking for.

High prices even with a Safeway card. Spoiled hamburger meat (they spray the outside of the loaf with red food dye to make it look fresh, but the inside is dark brown). Filthy and unattended mens bathroom. Dour and overpaid employees. They always ask you if you want a bag; they never ask you if you want a bag for 10 cents.

LADY LIBERTY

This Safeway is always clean, well stocked and has very helpful, curtious employees! There selection of produce and meats is beautiful! And to add to a great visit, the prices are always unbeatable, especially the bonus points for discounts on gasoline at their convenient pumps! Thanks, Safeway! God Bless you all!

They shouldnt any star they had a bug in there pre-made salad I bought there early in the morning before going to work on 24 of this month and when I ate my salad it said sell by 24 wth really but I called the manager said come by tomorrow....I will go back to get my refund but I will not shop there again....gross

I love the neighborhood shopping experience. Every employee lives in my community and is a personal friend of mine. Friendly, helpful, courteous, and concerned about your needs. Im always exchanging recipes and household tips with them. They are always open early and open late. The best shopping experience, ever!
