The "rest stop" near Buttonwillow/McKittrick is pretty much the best one between LA and SF. Its roughly halfway along the trip, and it has a McDonalds, Taco Bell, Subway, and Starbucks. It also has at least four gas stations so you can pick your favorite. If you see "Taste of India" youre in the right place. As far as this Starbucks goes, it pretty much lives up to your expectations in terms of drinks. It has a drive-through window, although we always go in to use the bathroom anyway. This time we around, we tried their new caramel/hazelnut macchiato, which turned out to be a mistake mostly because M and I belatedly realized "hazelnut coffee" is actually a common thing that weve had before and dont particularly like. But it wasnt un-tasty either.

Whod have thought that the number of available coffee shops along the I-5 between LA and SF is shockingly low! Buttonwillow to the rescue. Buttonwhat, you might ask? A little suburban town near Bakersfield; dusty, hot, but it does host a Starbucks. And an Indian restaurant. And a Subway. Stepping inside, youll find tired travelers hanging out on the benches, slurping on Iced Somethings, and staring at their cell phones, probably in disbelief that there are no Pokestops around. A line for the toilet. Buttonwillow makes it happen.

Couldnt give me the order in time but when I asked for water they asked me to get back in the line just for water. I understand there was too much crowd I am OK with the wait but the behavior is not acceptable. In fact some one else served before me who came after me. Also it seems they forgot my order till asked. All in all I felt disgusted with their way of service and over all attitude of Starbucks. I think they have more customers and they dont care about customer service.

Update: What isnt there to love about this place? I come here once a week or even 3 times a week, and Im always greeted by friendly smiles. I havent had ANY bad customer service since my last review which was last year. These people are hard loyal workers and have always been the best at doing their jobs!!! :)

I was quite disappointed being a Starbucks employee myself. I asked for ice tea lemonades however they were out of lemonade... then my caramel Macs were so burnt I didnt end drinking it. I was only passing through on a road trip but if we make the trip again I would not stop at this one again.

My coffee drink tasted off but since I am not a frequent customer I thought I might have improperly ordered. The barista offered to remake. The second one was fantastic. I asked her what was different so that I could order it correctly next time. "I just made it right this time." Ok......

We stop there alot and its never consistant,and i dont understand how the exact same order can come out so wrong. We have decided to not stop anymore,worse drinks on I 5.The quality of this Starbucks has really diminished in the last year,very sad. Hope management can turn it around

Passing through headed south. Im a barista up north and my family was not satisfied with their order in the drive thru. Also, how do you mess up an ice water (venti cup with a grande scoop of ice with no water)? The drinks they got felt like they were missing something.

They have a drive through! But really one that long road trip from the bay area to so cal, youll probably want to go in and enjoy the air condition, visit the restroom and order a coffee just to stretch your legs. They are quick here and friendly.

I Love my Green Tea Frap stop to Sacramento. My hubby loves his Starbucks Mocha Frap drink. My kids loved the Octopus Cookie and Cake Pop! Their restroom is clean, unusual for a Stabucks on a highway stop! Overall experience= Great!

The Buttonwillow Tesla superchargers are behind the Starbucks. It was so hot that day Im glad that this was here so I could get a cold drink. The line was sort of long which was ok since I had to charge anyway.

The person who made part of my drink order insisted that my drink doesnt exist, even though I ordered it via the app. Someone else made it for me, after me waiting 15 minutes, with no apology or anything...

Sarah was mighty helpful when i was a clutz and spilled my coffee, nice enough to give me a replacement because i was obviously not yet caffeinated. My girlfriend and i are extremely thankful!!!

Best thing going in that town. It is clean, cool and generally a nice spot to get some shade and some nice coffee. The crew that works there is pretty efficient. Its always a stop for us.

This is my favorite Starbucks to stop at between the Bay Area and Los Angeles. Location is clean, service is good, and although it never seems to be empty there is rarely much of a wait.

I always stop at this Starbucks when traveling I-5. I always receive great service and I always receive great drinks. It also is a good place to rest for a short time.

One of the few Starbucks on I-5. Try their fizzio sodas, that are exclusive to SoCal. If you are feeling adventurous try the cold brew with some club soda added to it.

Cant believe this place. Asked simply for a Chai cream Frappuccino and they got the wrong drink 3 times in a row. Im surprised they let any yay whos run this place.

The coffee is no different from any other starving, but we waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes. Literally like 4 minutes per car. Absolutely ridiculous.
