I have bought practically everything but my bike here, and I love all of it. The staff is friendly, they install parts for free if you bought them at the store (generally), and their warranty/return policy is amazing. I bought a wheelset from them several months back, and just from regular use the rim bed cracked. I took it in to the shop, and within half an hour, I had a new wheel installed, at no cost whatsoever. They were very understanding with it, and had no problems helping me. Some people have problems with brand-name store cycling things (like shoes and pedals), and I bought my pedals here, and havent had a single problem with them ever since the purchase almost a year ago. While their prices arent super cheap, theyre just about even, if not cheaper than other stores around (ie, mikes, missing link, etc) and if you shop there regularly like I do, getting the performance membership will make their things even cheaper. TLDR; Theyre not wall-mart cheap, but the people who work there are super friendly and helpful, and if you have any problems with the things you buy there, take it back and theyll almost always fix it at no charge (assuming you didnt break it yourself).

Like all bike shops here in Berkeley I find it hit and miss in terms of service and experience. Some days I get lots of help and information and others are lackluster. As for the product in the store, I find it has a good selection of products that span different budgets. However, and this is my personal opinion, I dont car for the brands of adult bikes there. They are just not for me. I did buy my sons bike there and I think they have great bikes for kids and are the best priced kids bikes in town. In all its a pretty good shop. Dont limit yourself to this shop only, but dont overlook it either.

The old man in the service department is a grumpy arrogant jerk. I wanted cables replaced and he wouldnt do it with out inspecting my whole bike and telling me that I need parts I dont need and that he wouldnt change the cables unless I replace parts that are completly unnecessary. Just one of youre bike guys that thinks hes so much better than you cause hes almost 70 and works in a retail bike shop. Mikes bikes is a few blocks away. And is the best bike shop ive ever been to. Save youre self the unpleasant visit and go there.

Total amateur hour! I went in to get my freewheel cleaned out with some air, and left 2 hours later with a part of my freewheel missing. What took so long? The guy had trouble hooking my quick release brakes back up and said it was because my housing was messed up (another bike shop today and was told housing was fine). I didnt notice the missing part until halfway home when my drivetrain just stopped working altogether. This place might be cheap relative to other places. But so so not worth it!!

Love the staff working in the store. A great place to visit once in a while to see what is new and on sale. Had to use the red phone to place an order a few weeks ago. The lady who answered the red phone was not very happy to begin with. She is not familiar with bike parts and I had to help her locate the part numbers...etc. Half way through the process, she even questioned me why my last name is spelled a certain way, and she was not joking with me!!! It was a very negative experience.

It is huge place with a great variety of cycling stuff. A cyclist dream store. They are kind and helpful. Let you wander around without rushing you to buy something. If you are a cyclist prepare to spend at least 2 hrs in the store. You cannot image the excellent prices and sales. Become a member prior to visit in order to get an additional 10% off. STORE: I recommend baskets to facilitate shopping.

This is a HUGE store with a pretty good selection of items. I was helped the minute I walked in the door, and I bought a transit rack for $25 which they installed free of charge for me on the spot. It was super quick and they were super nice. Theres a parking lot for cars, but oddly enough, no bike parking outside, at least not that I could find.

Good store, good prices, helpful friendly staff. Only thing the store lacks is cool bike stuff. They have everything you need, just maybe not everything you want, in seven colors, with buttons, and flashing lights.

The team really helped my new-to-biking wife and supported our search for a bike rack. Looked for a part for me, found it, did everything they could to explain. Nice shop too - check em out. Ryan

A little pricy but the service is excellent. A friendly and knowledgeable staff was anxious to outfit me with the best possible bike for my needs. A mistake on pricing was quickly remedied.

I almost always feel like my needs not important to the sales staff working there. I wish the sales side were staffed with more mechanic types and less retail sales types.

They have fine prices but the cashier guy working here seem like hes on vacation. He doesnt really care about customers and no one answers their phones.

Bought a bike there. We had to wait each time for a simple answer to a question.
