While I had nothing but good impression about the staff. And the great selection and competitive prices, I could not but notice the lady behind counter in the cheese and cold cut department chopping bunches of parsley in the residential use type of a processor, on the same counter used for cutting cheese and inches away from it. There was no indication to convey the impression that the parsley had been washed. Cross contamination was surely taking place. Few months back they started offering $ 10.00 reward on purchases of $ 300.00. Less than a month later it was reduced to $ 5.00. Every time we went back to shop there. The amount of minimum purchased was repetitively increased to $ 400.00 an $ 500.00. This only indicates how cheap the mentality of people at the corporate level are. IT IS BAD POLICY.

I have always like the prices and produce at this store that feels more like a community than a big chain. The fruits and veggies are as varied as the customers that frequent the store. I would warn new customers that the store can get very crowded and the lines to checkout can get clogged with people but the final tally at the cash register will confirm, good things come to those that wait. I cannot give Super King my highest rating, although Id like to, because the last time I visited I had accumulated over 400 loyalty points and when I went in today there was only 185 so either my points expired or there is something fishy going on. It is disheartening to be loyal to a store and then have that taken away.

Simply put, I just cannot say enough about this store. I am a health nut and find that Super King has the best combination of cheap, but fresh fruit anywhere in the Pasadena area. Just as an example, today they had a pound of oranges for $0.39... $0.39 a pound, I mean seriously, how do you beat that? You cant. Add the fresh produce in with the cheapest meat, fish and poultry anywhere, and Im telling you, you CANNOT go wrong with this place. The only thing I would add is that it can get crowded if you pick the wrong time. Thankfully my gym is next door, and I usually pop right over after a workout. Super King comes highly, highly recommended on my part!

The produce isnt the prettiest, but the prices are unbelievably low. Shopping in the aisles can be hit or miss with unfamiliar brands and sometimes higher prices than other supermarkets. The bakery is pretty good for breads, but the cakes and fruit tarts are horribly artificial tasting, and contain far too many chemical-sounding ingredients. The parking lot is terrible as are the long check out lines. Always check your receipt before leaving; Ive had extra charges put on my bill, such as a bag of potatoes and a $30 hookah. Dont forget to take your own bags, so you wont have to pay for their bags.

If youre on a budget, but need to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, this is your supermarket. If you like organic fruits and vegetables, youre at the wrong place. To me however, they have a great selection of fruits and vegetables, some of which you cant even find at a Ralphs or Vons. Just dont expect the produce to last as long. The parking lot right in front of the market can get really packed at peak times, so I suggest coming when they open or just before they close. Also go on the weekends if you want fresh produce, they tend to have better quality stock during those times.

PRODUCE, DELI, SPICES, PICKLES & SAUCES, LIQUOR: huge selection, low prices Super King is multi-ethnic low-price supermarket. Produce selection includes taro root, sugar cane, fenugreek herb, 5 kinds of tangerines. Top shelf liquors range up to $500. Sausages and cheeses from 5 continents. PARKING LOT, CHECK OUT LINES, CUSTOMER SERVICE: chaos and delays. Dont go to SuperKing if you are hungry or tired. Its an ordeal. This is absolutely not the place to "run in for a few items on the way home from work."

If you need any kind of unique, ethnic food ingredient- especially Middle Eastern, Greek, Armenian, or Hispanic- you can probably find it here. I have loved this Super King since they first opened. The produce selection and prices are FANTASTIC. Asparagus for $1.99? Check. Dozen limes for $1.00? Sure, why not. The deli and cheese area is also great, especially when they put certain items on sale. The bulk snack and candy area is lots of fun too. Parking can get crazy, so be prepared.

We go here weekly for cheeses, meats and produce. The prices and quality are great. There is much less emphasis on presentation than you will find at other higher priced grocers. You have to get used to the less polished appearance. Youll have to get used to the rushed, down-to-business clerks. However, once you get past that, youll see fantastic price, produce selection and quality. Snobs (you know who you are) will hate it, but the value really cant be beat.

Wonderful produce at great prices means people come here to buy- which results in high turnover and allows them to sell fruit thats fresh, rather than under-ripe. Also good cheese, middle eastern food, bulk nuts/seeds... Prices are the best in the area unless youre buying packaged foods. Of note- its hard to find it your first time due to poor street visibility. Look at street view beforehand and look for the stores beside it instead.

Lines are always long. I cant get everything i need in one stop. The cashiers talk to eachother in other languages and dont talk to the customers. At least they hired some people from Walmart and they have customer service skills. The last time i went to the deli the lady gave me a pound over what i asked for and looked at me like i was crazy when i told her it was not what i asked for.

Rudest place I have ever seen. Cashiers abused my wife twice when she went shopping there alone. They threw her products in anger and became irritated when she asked to be more careful. I have never seen cashiers smiling, they look at you as if you invaded their territory. Also they are not a bit embarrassed to discuss you in their native language right in front of you during checkout.

I live in Alaska, and I had the opportunity to visit this store when I visited two years ago. The produce is incredibly low-priced. I bought things for an amazing price that I dont find up here at all, or if I do its so stale, who wants it? Great coffee for a reasonable price. Great medjool dates for a reasonable price. I cant wait to go back this week, its on my "MUST do" list.

Its the best place for fresh fruit and vegetables. Also the deli has lots of choices and tasting before you buy. The butcher dept has great choices and they will cut to choice if needed for that recipe in mind. They do have some good buy in the isles along with the dry grains lots of choices. Regular stuff is way too pricey but i must admit they have a large variety of product.
