Despite many efforts to find the best tattoo place and person to have work done, I have gotten into a unfortunate situation which resulted in a substandard tattoo. Numerous people that I have talked with have vouched for Black Rose, so I decided to have some simple lettering done there. Upon walking into the shop, the first artist that helped me was Parker. He was very friendly and helpful in regards to what I had wanted, so I decided to have him as my artist. I had checked out his portfolio online and was very confident in my choice. The tattoo was a simple albeit unusual font that resembled Arabic (although not closely, just a touch). He sketched it out and stenciled it on my arm, and upon close examination I thought it looked great. However, after it was tattooed, some of the letters were too close together and the thickness (boldness) of some of them wasnt consistent. This was very apparent after it had healed. Two of the letters were "S" and "T". They were tattooed so close together that they resembled an "A". Im very disappointed in the outcome of the tattoo and will have to get it fixed elsewhere (if possible). While I was getting tattooed, his associates kept distracting him so perhaps this was what had caused the lack of attention to detail.

I work in a customer service industry and have set very high standards on what to expect when I get service. This is my 5th tattoo. When I walk into a tattoo shop I look for how clean are the store front and the lobby. They were both very clean. I watched the staff to see how their stations are and to see how they handle themselves. The stations were clean and the artists were very neat. The tools of the trade where all fresh and in sealed packets. My artist was Julia. She was laser beamed focused on the task at hand. I should her what i wanted and I gave her artistic freedom. And that was the best thing I have ever done. OMG SHE DID THE PERFECT TATTOO. SHE GETS THE HIGHEST PRAISE I CAN GIVE TO ANYONE!.. I know we are blessed with many wonderful artists in Tucson. But Black Rose and the folks at the 6th st (I have not been to the 4th st. yet) are the best. Thank you guys for giving me such a great tattoo and experience....I will be back and I will spread the word.. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXCELLENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM! David Marler

I went to Black Rose to get my first piercing (About a week and a half ago). I walked in, looking like a dork because I didnt know what to say or who to talk to. It wasnt a problem though. The people there were friendly and were quick to point me in the right direction. The piercing I got was a tongue piercing, and I have to say I love it! Gail was my piercer, and she was very nice. She explained the procedure to me, and used sterile, unopened, tools. I felt confident. She answered the few questions I had and did the piercing quickly and efficiently. It was over in seconds, and she then proceeded to inform me of all the aftercare I had to do in order to ensure a perfectly healed piercing. I will definitely be going to Black Rose for the other piercings I plan on getting. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Piercing Review: Absolutely phenomenal! I found Black Rose online and came in to get my conch pierced at a large gauge during the Winter of 2013. Theo did it for me, and although I was beyond nervous, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was very informative and thorough. The shop is really clean and he talked me through the procedure and made sure I was happy with everything. I loved the experience. My BF also got an eyebrow and a conch piercing done with Theo and they look amazing. The placement is perfect. We love all our new mods. I kind of wish I still lived in Tucson so I can get more work by him! Maybe next time Im in town for a visit. Love this place. Thanks, Theo. : )

Had two tattoos done here was very happy at first but once healed I noticed a bunch of mistakes. My simple kids drawings and the artist didnt even stay inside the lines. I gave 3 stars just cause she didnt get the chance to fix them. The sad thing is her portfolio is awesome so i think bringing her a simple tattoo and it coming out the way it did was cause she just rushed the beck out of it and that is why it looks nothing like whats in her portfolio :( not smooth lines, not smooth shading, and not inside the lines. Very disappointing. And I searched through many artists and picked her cause her portfolio.

I have several holes in my head, and I wont just let anyone put new ones in. Theo did almost all of them, and for the most part I didnt feel a thing. I always get comments on the great work he does! Everything is very professional and CLEAN! He is also good at fixing things that others have messed up.... dont be like me and learn the hard way! I am also having Kristen work up a few Tattos for me. I cant wait to get in to get some ink! Check out her work, its just off the charts! Really, why go anywhere else? Why take the chance, when these guys, and gals are so great?

Not very welcoming,shop was very hot . they wouldnt let me sit in back to find the right tattoo so i sweat in front. I couldnt believe the one artists portfolio.....the one man i think he was Phil,his portfolio was OK,average, but this other artist came into work and tried to undercut Phil. I looked at his artwork and it looked like art i did in 6th grade. Go to next block at Sacred Art atattoo! They are professionals.

I had a fantastic experience at Black Rose Tattooers on 6th Avenue. Tracy is a great artist--her work is beautiful and innovative, and Im super pleased with my tattoo! She made me feel comfortable and calm throughout the process. Plus, she is a fascinating person and a great storyteller! I highly recommend Black Rose for its cleanliness, friendly, talented staff, and general awesomeness! Ten thumbs up!

I wont be going anywhere else while Im in Tucson getting tattoos! This place is awesome! Nikki is my artist and she is amazing. But all the tattooists there are so well trained and do beautiful work. Im never disappointed. And the shop remodel done recently is great! It opens the place up and makes it so much more inviting! Keep up the good work guys :-)

I got my first tattoo here, a custom. I couldnt be happier with the result. The place is very clean and open. All needles are brand new and everything (including the entire area around you) is sterilized and protected while youre getting tattooed. I havent had any problems with my tattoo at all, it still looks great. The staff is friendly and welcoming!

Ive received a lot of tattoos in my life.. Sharon is amazing. The rest of the staff were great to.I felt comfortable, and Sharon has an extremely light hand, pays a tremendous amount of attention to detail... And shes not painful to the eyes either. She will be my go to from now on, I finally found my artist. Thank you.
