MY CHURCH BOUGHT 400 PLUS YARDS FROM YOUR STORE IN HOOVER, ALABAMA. THE MANAGER, TONY, COULD NOT HAVE BEEN NICER AND SPENT MANY HOURS DOING THE CUTTING FOR US IN A ROOM THAT WAS NOT WHERE WE HAD TO WAIT IN LINE,,,THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME HE HAS TAKEN HIS TIME TO DO THIS FOR OUR CHURCH AND IS SO NICE TO WORK WITH.... IF THERE WAS A BOLT OF FABRIC WE COULDNT REACH, HE WOULD GET A LADDER AND CLIMB UP AND GET IT FOR US...HE NEVER COMPLAINED AND WE WERE ALL THERE PROBABLY 5-6 HOURS! THIS MAN IS KIND AND RESPECTABLE TO HIS WORKERS WHICH IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. THERE IS ESPECIALLY ONE WOMAN IN THERE THAT ACTS LIKE IT IS AN IMPOSITION TO WAIT ON YOU OR CHECK YOU OUT AT THE REGISTER AND DOESNT SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO TREAT THE CUSTOMER; BUT OVERALL THE GIRLS WORKING THERE ARE GREAT! MY POSITION IS THAT IF YOU DONT LIKE PEOPLE AND DONT WANT TO INTERACT WITH THEM, THEN DONT WORK IN RETAIL! I HOPE THE CORPORATE OFFICE WILL GET THIS, AND GIVE TONY THE PRAISE HE DESERVES...HE IS DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB FOR THEM. I FORGOT TO MENTION ANOTHER DAY LAST WEEK I WAS IN THE STORE MY MYSELF AND BOUGHT TOO MUCH FLEECE TO CARRY TO MY CAR. AGAIN, TONY SAID I COULD PULL AROUND TO THE FRONT OF THE STORE AND HE WOULD LOAD IT UP FOR ME...HE VOLUNTEERED THIS WITHOUT ME ASKING! The employees at Jo-Ann could hold their own in a competition for Americas worse employees. From the moment you walk in, youre greeted with a glare and silence. If you need assistance, forget it, they dont care. And if you plan to get fabric cut, factor in at least a half hour in wait time as there is never more than one person cutting. If you havent decided against going there yet, Ill share my most recent experience. I was purchasing 2 bolts of muslin, with the price labeled on them at $39.99. The friendly employee (who upon beginning our transaction muttered, "this place sucks") couldnt get them to scan and told me they probably werent even for sale (why were they out then?); he keyed them in at $49.99, and when I pointed out the price on each bolt, he shrugged and said that he wouldnt change the price to what it was supposed to be. He expected me to pay a total of $20 over MSRP. I promptly walked out and went to Hancock across the parking lot. They are at least competent and have some concept of what customer service means.

Terrible customer service today from Ericka at the register. Was sarcastic and rude (with an indignant smile on her face the entire time) when I couldnt understand how they couldnt simply TRADE 5 cans of spray paint (one of them not functioning) for a different color of chalk paint and honor the coupon used for my original transaction 2 days ago. I actually purchased one extra can just to reach the $75 mark so I could use a $15 off coupon the day of my original purchase. She tried to say they it would be 2 different transactions and thats why the coupon couldnt be honored. When I questioned how it was 2 different transactions but she wasnt refunding me for the retuned cans and recharging me for the new ones, she then proceeded to say, "well thats how well do it then" so she could prove a point and make things more expensive for me. Will not make the mistake of driving another hour round trip here again. Stay away unless you want to be treated like crap if something doesnt work out with your purchase.

This rating is for the last two weeks including today. Where has all your fleece fabric gone? You used to have a whole wall of fleece fabric. I come in once a week... I do quite a few fleece tie blankets and your inventory keeps getting lower and lower. When I ask why, your staff says they have no idea when theyre getting fabric... that doesnt really help me:/ I really dont want to order online. Id rather come to your store but it looks like I have no option. I would like to have some indication of when you will fill up with more fleece fabric. I have been making trips to the store for the last month with little luck. Could you please tell me what is going on and when you will be getting the inventory you used to have. I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Sewing department was very unhelpful, wouldnt give me the time of day when I was looking for a Butterick sewing pattern. They need to stop acting like their customers are burdens. I asked one question about whereabouts of the sewing pattern and the employee just walked off, not bothering to help. Its extremely disheartening as a beginning apparel design student who has to drive 45 minutes to this location just to get supplies and no assistance whatsoever from the employees here!

I really love this store for the products. But aside from the products, this store can be frustrating. There isnt anyone on the floor to help or answer questions. They need price check scanners through out the floor to help customers since they do not have anyone on the floor. Be prepared to stand in line when checking out. Also, whoever is checking you out will most likely be have to answer the phone and deal with customer service issues at the same time.

I just spent 10+ minutes on hold on the phone before someone picked up and put me on hold AGAIN for 10 more minutes!! I work in retail and there should be no excuse to not answer the phone. I had one simple question that wouldve taken all of 20 seconds to answer.

The customer service at this store could be improved considerably, although I doubt this will happen because none of the employees seem interested in customer concerns. Employees at the fabric department and checkout are dismissive and curt.

Wasted an entire lunch break at this place. Couldnt locate a single employee other than the guy at the only open register who had a line 10 people deep. After leaving I tried calling to see if they even had what I needed, but no answer.
