Yes, we have two Nooks. One is Nook Color and one is Nook Simple Touch. We had difficulty downloading a book from our local library to the Nook Simple Touch (black and white) so we first asked Pedro at this Fairfax store. He was very helpful, but since he didnt have access to our library account, he suggested we go online with our library account open, then call the Nook help desk, which we did. Turns out IT WAS NOT THE FAULT OF THE NOOK! It was actually the Adobe Digital Editions software that is used to move books from our local library to the Nook itself. Adobe had changed their software and it botched up future downloads. Adobes help desk was extremely difficult to reach, and was absolutely no help. BUT, the NOOK help desk helped us solve the problem, with hand-holding and step-by-step procedures which then enabled us to "borrow" a digital book from our local library and read it on our NOOK Simple Touch. So, for reviewers who complain about software on the NOOK, take a deep breath, pick up the phone, and call the NOOK help desk. NOOK software issues are NOT the fault of the good people who work at the Fairfax store. Also, if you buy a book at B&N anywhere, its assumed that youve done your homework and compared online prices. Right? You did that, RIGHT? Yes, with one phone call, I found that several books on the shelves at the Fairfax store were about 20% higher than Amazons, so I looked at B&N online. GUESS WHAT? The B&N online prices were the same as Amazons. AND, for reasons I dont know, B&N did not charge sales tax, whereas Amazon does. The three books I ordered from B&N online were delivered in two days, far better than Amazons basic free shipping.

The Starbucks in this Barnes and Nobles has the worst staff, they are extremely rude. I was sitting down reading a book in the cafe, and an employee came to me and told me I had to go because I didnt buy a drink!!! This is a public bookstore.. they have no seating but the seating in the attached Starbucks cafe..I was extremely shocked! How do they have the guts to say something like that? Today I went back and ordered a drink and read my book in the cafe again, and I overheard a man yelling at an employee because he told him to leave!!!! The same thing that happened with me happened to him! I cant believe how rude they are.. I dont recommend coming here unless you order a full meal for ur family in their small cafe.. another time I was in Barnes and nobles and there were 2 teenage girls sitting on the floor in the corner of the bookstore doing their work quietly because there was no where else to sit, then the manager went over and told them to leave because customers couldnt access the COOKBOOKS.. first of all there were no customers there.. second, who comes to look at cookbooks.. lets be real. It was obvious the teens chose the least popular place to sit to not disturb anybody!!!

I recently visited this Barnes and Nobel and I was very pleased. Salesperson Trisha was of upmost help. The only complaint I have is that I lost one of my 21 cats when I smuggled it in. It was very tragic and I had a car funeral and dressed all of my cats in black tuxedos. Charles the cat was very elegant thanks to Amazons amazing delivery. Amazon also makes it so that I dont have to come back here because my cat got lost there. Its very triggering of my cat side of emotions because I was born a cat and got turned into a human by a different salesperson at b&n. Can I just take a second to talk a bout how great meow mix chicken is? But anyhow I also went to this Barnes and Nobel and saw my divorced husband jeremy. This is a problem because it is very awkward around him. He divorced me because I had too many cats. Too many cats? No such thing. What a fool. Little does he know I bought the fantastic board game "Jenga" to play with my cats but a wizard popped out and have me magical Gandalf powers. So I could use my powers to blast him out of my cat filled life. Without Barnes and Nobel I wouldnt have been able to get my revenge on my dog person divorced husband. Thank you.

I love Barnes and Noble, they are by far the greatest book selling store in the entire world. I enjoy coming here to read, write and purchase new material to read. Today, on June 17th, 2017, Fathers Day, I came in to purchase some new Mangas at the B&N in Fairfax Virginia off Tysons Corner, and they offered a deal "Buy 2, get one free". So I picked up Fairy Tail volumes 55-60, and I expected to get two free. When I went to the register I was told that only certain companies offered the deal, and that Kodansha the company who manufactures the Fairy Tail series did NOT participate in this 2 for one special. I was gravely disappointed when I went to the counter and wasnt given the deal for that reason. I thought it was ridiculous for only certain books to be on the sale. I had to return volumes 59, and 60. They should put all the books with the deal in one section and label those that arent. The books I selected even had the sign above them to be purchased with the deal.

Went in to buy a book and a gift card. I shouldve looked at the price of the book in store and not just at Amazon online. At Amazon the hard back book is $14 with free shipping. At B&N the book is...$28! DOUBLE?!?!?! I didnt notice until I got home. Anyway - when I went to check out I asked for gift receipts, I was handed NONE! The chatty make cashier shouldve been printing my gift receipts instead of commenting on my purchases and trying to upsell my gift card value. So, I notice that the price of the book is obnoxiously priced so I send my husband back to the store, with the receipt and they CAN NOT take the return without the credit card. REALLY? What store cannot do this when theres a bar code on the receipt...every other store in the USA can do this. So, now I have to make another trip. Never again. I dont care how nice the staff is. If I cant get what I want at a reasonable price I wont return.

One of the last bookstores in the Fairfax area. Borders has shut down, B&N Reston has shut down. Bookstores are dying. I cannot conceive of what would posses anyone who enjoys books to give this place a 1 star review. The FFX store has NOTHING to do with Nook problems, and Amazon competition. Rate this store on the STORE, not the company. Well staffed, has a Starbucks cafe with great pastries (probably the best chocolate cupcake around), a million magazines, and a kids area. Free Wifi. As mentioned...one of the last book stores around in this area. Whats not to like? Yes...i agree...as a company I wish they would match Amazon prices (for B&N members at least...that would be a nice perk). Not crazy about B&N mgmt and decisions, but this store is a good one and staffed by caring people. Hope it survives for as long as it can. A sad day for this area when it closes.
