Ive gotten tattooed at this shop for the past few years, on several different occasions. I exclusively use Will Wood as my one and only ink guy. He has done everything for me from roses for my daughters, a full half-sleeve cross with complimentary artwork, an asian-inspired piece on my other arm with a phoenix, dragon, and script. On my calves, he has done portraits of my children on one leg and portraits of characters from the series Spartacus on my other. His work is impeccable. The coloring, shading, creativity, and the ability to take my idea and create an incredibly unique piece is a talent like no other. Not only that, but the portrait work he does is some of THE BEST in the business. They are incredibly life-like, the best shading and filling and line work you will ever get. Ive not only used him exclusively for the past 6 years but also have referred my family and friends to him -- even my wife who has gotten incredible lotus flowers done by him. We constantly get compliments for his work, coloring, shading, and creativity. Overall, I love the staff at Straight Edge as well. All the guys there are incredibly cool to be around. The owner, Chris, is very laid back, friendly, and a great artist as well as all the guys are. The shop is always very sterile, clean, organized, and efficient. Ive never had any issues with my tattoos, during healing and have never needed a single touch-up on any of Wills work. He goes out of his way for his clients to not only make them feel comfortable, but also has become friends with many of his clients (me and my wife included) because he is not only an incredible and talented tattoo artist, but a great person. I cant speak highly enough of Straight Edge and the work that the entire team does there. 5 of 5 starts and would (and have) personally recommended this shop to ANYONE.

First off i would like to say that Will Harper is a piercing guy, NOT a tattoo guy as stated below by that little harpy. Second of all, the tattoo shop itself is VERY clean. Every needle is individually sealed in tight medical looking packaging. Every part of the tattoo gun is sealed in packaging and VERY clean for each individual client. Each artist not only uses a pair of medical grade latex gloves...I saw my tattoo guy Will Wood change his gloves at least 3 times during my 2 hour session. I would HAPPILY recommend this shop and especially Will Wood for all your tattooing needs. I had my first experience getting a tattoo just 3 days ago. The whole shop made me feel very comfortable, safe, and understood. Will Wood went out of his way with my tattoo idea, and designed the MOST realistic giraffe tattoo I have ever seen. Here is the most important part....... The most important part of your tattoo experience....ALWAYS listen to the cleaning rules and instructions your tattoo artist gives you. If you have questions, call them and do not ask someone who does not know what they are talking about. I was instructed very clearly on taking care of my tattoo, and it is already healing after just 3 days. Little pain, small scabs, but that is it. My giraffe is becoming clearer and more beautiful everyday. go to Straight Edge Tattoo in Murfreesboro, TN. You WONT regret it!!!!!!

This is, hands down, one of the best shops Ive ever had the privilege to work with. Ive been to more than a few tattoo shops both here and in Florida and their quality and artistry is absolutely unmatched. Everyone there is incredible at their signature style and the guys are absolutely some of the most professional tattooers Ive ever met. Im currently getting a classic horror leg sleeve done by Will Wood and its mind-blowingly amazing. Im stopped everywhere I go by so many people who are stunned by the quality of my tattoos, and they have even gotten the "mom stamp of approval". (Come on folks, thats good work.) I can honestly say I have never been prouder of any tattoo work I have gotten done. Will Harper has also helped me out with my web piercing when I was turned down by some of the other shops here in Murfreesboro. If you are anywhere near the Murfreesboro area, this is definitely the place you want to go for any type of tattoo or piercing. If youre doing your research, and want a tattoo or piercing you can be proud of, its only going to lead you to one place: Straight Edge Tattoo and Body Piercing in Murfreesboro TN.

Communication is very very poor. I emailed Straight Edge throug Facebook to coordinate a time for new ink plus a touch up. I explained I work in a military capacity overseas, would be in very briefly and asked if they could accomodate my timeline. I also presented very specific instructions, with photos, as to what I would like regarding my tats. I received a very templated, "come in...pay $60-$100 deposit...speak to an artist to make an appointment." Tried the same thing with Victory Tattoo in Nashville. "No prooblem. See you then." I appreciate tattoo artists as much as anyone, but these guys seriously need a better system. See their message to me below: Thats awesome you found someone that can take care of you.. You was not just blown off, but sounds like you are a lil needy. This is what we tell all everyone that wants to make an appointment. We do not book anybody without a deposit and do not price any tattoos via message.. the reason is people just blow off there appointment time, due to no deposits. Good luck on your tattoo, and thank you for the BS message.

At first I thought they were really friendly & had a great price, i went in to redo my spider bite that i had previously taken out, when I sat down the Piercer, Will, didnt mark me for the piercings, but didnt seem like a big deal because you could see the scars from before. The piercing went by smoothly, the guy didnt talk much or seem too enthusiastic about his job, after i was pierced, he handed me the mouthwash that i had just spit in to re-use and rinse my mouth again, after i insisted he handed me a new cup of mouthwash, when i looked in the mirror, he had missed the second piercing, so they are now crooked. the most disgusting part about the whole experience is when he cleaned the tongs used to hold my lip in the cup with my spit in it and then threw them back in the container with the others. I dont know about the tattoo artists but I DO NOT recommend this place for ANY piercings...just nasty.

Im Will, the piercier at Straight Edge. One, I am very talkative and enjoy my job. I talked to the girl from the last review from the time we went in, til the time the piercing was over. Two, Yes the area was bleeding and scar tissue mannipulated the area and i did miss it by not holding the clamp as tight as i should have to reduce the bleeding so yes im fault for that. But it was not missed by much at all but was told by her it was ok afterwards, it was ok... knew nothing else till she called back a day later to talk to my boss. She has been told it would be made up to her. I have always tried to make all my customers happy.. and the clamps they went in the dirty bin to be cleaned and autoclaved all clamps are sterile for everyone and all needles are single use needles. After seven years of piercing, NASTY is one thing I AM NOT and never will be in dealing with the public.....
