(original past from Feb 2016) really liked our salesperson but when they delivered our furniture it had marks and a tear on it. Took a couple of attempts to get in touch with them but they agreed to replace the furniture with a new set. (update April 2016...we got our new furniture today and it was also damaged with a tear in it also so we have to figure out what is next...plus they put ruts in our yard, backed the truck over my rock wall by the driveway and busted it to pieces as well as hit the corner of our living room wall and damaged it so we have to figure out what to do with that also). (update May 2016...the saga continues...they delivered our third sofa which thankfully is not damaged, so were good there...still working on the loveseat. AND they hit the corner of our living room wall about 18 inches higher this time and damaged it in another place. We are now talking with insurance company since a claim has been filed, but so far they are not wanting to pay what the repairs will cost to our wall, yard and landscaping) (update June 2016)...and yet more saga...on a positive note a lady from corporate helped get resolution from the damage and I cashed a check from the insurance company last week...I got my yard and landscaping fixed. However...today Value City delivered another loveseat to replace the one that was not right and it was damaged in three places. and the driver of this truck backed over my rock wall and busted it all up again...so now they are opening a new insurance claim. Does this stuff never stop? (update July 2016) after a couple more attempts we go a love seat today that is not damaged!! we are so happy. The store and the lady at corporate continued to work with us to get resolution. hats off to them for their effort in getting this resolved. They delivered the last couple of love seats in the original box and we discovered that they were coming damaged from the manufacturer...not something the store of delivery people were doing. That was good to know. Our second insurance claim for property damage has still not been resolved, but that is an issue we have to sort our with Travelers insurance (thats a whole other story). (update December 2016) Travelers insurance ended up denying to pay our second claim...saying that it was a duplicate claim. We did make repairs to fix the first damage, but they damaged it again on a follow up delivery but have now refused to pay to have it fixed this time. I followed up 3 times with Value City regarding this and they have not replied to me this time. At least I have my furniture, but I do not plan to return to value city in the future, and would not recommend that you do either. I had been happy with how Value City corporate had handled this whole saga, until this latest episode where they have ignored my past three messages and have not replied to the fact that the damage to my property was not compensated for.

I just wanted to thank VCF for the wonderful, eye opening experience in your Canton, OH location. Tuesday, May 17th at approximately 8PM I walked into the store to look around and kill some time. I was in the market for a bedroom set and a living room set. I was not even 5 feet into the store before I had a young lady by the name of Christina greet us. I was walking the other direction and said "Just looking around right now, thank you though!" I must have bruised her precious ego, because she immediately gave me an exaggerated "OOooooook let me know if you have any questions!" She then proceeded to run over to her coworker and started gabbing back and forth. Id recommend you train your employees to wait until theyre outside of earshot before they insult the physical appearance of your customers and talk trash about them. I could tell at that point VCF must not value their customers comfort within their stores that much, so we took the hint and left. We didnt feel welcome anymore. But hey, just to circle back, I do want to thank you for shooing us out of the store, forcing us to go to the new Ashleys furniture location down the road. They seemed to value our business more, and the wonderful Sales Manager there also wanted me to thank you for sending us her way. Im sure the $6,000 order we placed will help them hit their goals for the month!

Doesnt even deserve 1 star. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR ONE. I purchased "the big softie" sectional about 2 years ago, worst purchase ever. Oh and dont even bother purchasing the warranty the sales guy said it would cover EVERYTHING gave examples like stains, rips, if anything broke on the console, if the couch would sink, he pretty much said theres not one thing that WOULDNT be covered, well guess what theyve been out TWICE and denied the claims both times, so wasted money on the warranty. The sections of the couch wont stay together making it impossible to sit comfortably because you sit down and the pieces separate, the one corner wedge the spring broke so its like your sitting on the floor in one spot but yet they wont fix it. Now trying to get this issue resolved, I call the store have to call FIVE times before someone answers. Ive been told twice I would get a call back at a certain time and I dont get a call back till 2 days later or I have to call myself!!! I need more furniture but if they wont make this right I WILL take my business somewhere else and anyone I come in contact with I will let them know how they could careless after they make there sale on the satisfaction of there customer!!!!

My shopping experience was surprisingly great after reading some reviews about this store. The sales person was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. My parents always had quality furniture growing up and it always came from value city so I decided to follow with my purchase. I am very pleased with my furniture. The reason for the 3 star is first, because of the time we had to wait between purchase and delivery. It was almost a month wait and second, the recliner chair we bought smells like an ash tray. This chair, I do believe, was at the store in canton but the couch and love seat needed to be delivered from columbus. I hope after a few reviews and surveys that I have filled out that this store will address their smoking policy. The wait for the furniture wouldnt have been so bad if upon delivery the chair didnt smell like it was sitting in a cigar shop for the last month. We are attempting to clean it instead of asking for a new one because of the fear of having to wait another month for it. Aside from that, I recommend value city furniture.

Purchased an entertainment center (4 pc) right before Christmas 2013. Had to wait until Jan 8th to get it delivered. The first thing I noticed was the bridge had a lot of damage to it. One of the delivery people blamed the new guy for loading up the damaged item. Upon further inspection, every single piece had marks on them as if this was a scratch and dent item. Both bookcases had long marks on them as though a TV had scrapped both sides and the TV stand had scruff marks like it has also been used. Immediately call and requested a NEW entertainment center. Was told it would be another week for delivery (Jan 15th). On this delivery, they only had the TV stand portion of the 4pc set. We are waiting once again today (Jan 22nd) for the whole 4 pc set to be delivered AGAIN! This has been the worst experience I have ever had purchasing furniture!! This is the 3rd attempt to get our furniture and having to be at home to accept the delivery!!!
