I went to this dealership to purchase a vehicle. We had our financing already lined up and just needed to get the credit union the numbers and the deal would be locked in. We went to view a Kia Cadenza that was offered for an amazing price. Our salesman (Brent) was initially very personable and helpful. We worked out numbers quickly and had them send the purchase order to the bank. It took a little bit for the bank to process the paperwork and get final clearance from their lending dept. Once that was all clear (this was 5pm on a Thursday evening, the dealership closes at 6pm), we called our sales rep to ensure it would still be okay if we got our paperwork done at the credit union and we came to pick up that night. He said this was fine and we proceeded with the deal. We got a phone call from our sales rep to check on our progress around 5:45 (understandable) and we told him we were pretty much finished with the paperwork. This is where it went downhill... He then asked me for how much the check was for. It was exactly the amount they listed in the purchase order. He then asked me if we were bringing the title for our trade...I told him no and that he would receive that directly from the credit union. He insisted he needed the title right away to allow us to take delivery. I confirmed with the credit union that the title would be sent to the dealer promptly but that was not good enough. He asked the credit union rep to call his finance manager. The story only gets better... We had our credit union rep call the finance manager. She put him on speakerphone (thank goodness). She confirms what I had told our sales rep...that they would receive the title in the mail from their corporate office. He said he cant do that and that he needs the title. She assured him that he would have the title and he said, "I cant trust you. I dont know you." (They are calling from a well-respected credit union with offices spread across the STL area). She then offers to prepare a lien release or something to show that the loan is paid. He refuses. She then says she can give him a check for the full amount and then he could send only the payoff back (she was originally trying to cut out the middle man, smart). Once he realized how ridiculous that was, he said that we can move forward with the lien release and proceed with delivery. As we were preparing to hang up, he said... "Are they still there?" And she informed him that we were. He then asked if we are aware that they close at 6? And then I interjected to say that we were aware and our salesperson agreed to stay to close the deal. He placed us on hold. When he came back on the line, he told us that they are not willing to stay. They thought we would be there sooner. We had the check ready and all paperwork was signed. He rambled on about something related to the time and in my shock, I told him to keep the car and sell it to someone else. I understand that folks want to get out of work on time. I am human and I get it, but when we already had an agreement and you renege...not only that, but youre extremely rude to me and the reps from the credit union... I felt disrespected and devalued. Unfortunately, I cant help but to think that this is race related (we are black). Maybe black money isnt good enough for this dealership to wait a few mins for)...I dont know...

Let me begin by saying, I loved my very first brand NEW car. Ive included a picture of our last look at our 2008 Hyundai Entourage. My husbands first car was a 1975 Pacer (pausing for laughter). Anyway, we bought that van from Suntrup in January 09, the actual day of our 20th wedding anniversary! I had told him I wanted a "big honking sparkly". As we drove away from the dealership that night, he remarked - well, at least it honked. When we traded it in last week, we had put 114,000 of its 119, 000 miles on it. We thought we had been treated nicely by that dealership but didnt want to commute back and forth to South County to where they are located. We live in East Alton and Wood River is merely a blink away. We went to Federico to check out the 2017 Soul. Their sales representative, James Star approached us as we were checking out their two toned stock. He offered to get the keys for us so that we could further check it out. He brought them back and went over the many cool options already included on it. He answered my many questions and he revealed the he, too, had recently purchased one. Which spawned even more questions from me and again he willingly and confidently answered them all. He then suggested we take it for a test drive. We agreed. My husband and I both loved the car. We told James what we liked about the car and that we were going to do some further research. He told us that was fine. There was no pressure. He handed us his card and said if I had any further questions to please give him a call. We were both impressed with his style. He shook our hands and we drove away agreeing that if we decided to purchase one from them - it would only be from James. We looked over all of the Souls options and colors and by Sunday night we had decided to buy one on Monday. We arrived at the dealership by 11 and were driving away in it by afternoon. James literally walked us through every step of the process. He shuffled papers back and forth for signatures. He offered us drinks. He informed us of other points and highlights about the car we just purchased. It was quick, painless and one of the best experiences we have ever had. Every single employee we encountered at the dealership was friendly, polite, and helpful including Cathie and Mark in the service department BUT we would have never known any of that had we not been impressed with James Stars initial approach to us. You know its true what they say, "you never get a second chance to make a first impression". Thank you Federico Kia for all the support and kindness you shared with us that day. Thank you James Star for helping us decide and purchase our new car in celebration of our retirements! Sincerely, Dennis and Dawn Kinnkin

I worked with My local kia dealership and about 5 other surrounding kia dealers within a 200 mile radius. I spent all day Saturday dealing with salesman after salesman. At the end of the day I was so frustrated with getting the run around and having my chain yanked every which way, with the whole sales pitch they want to run you through. I was lied to so many times, that I could hardly lift my cup of coffee to take a drink with out shaking because I was so upset. I was finally done and closed the book on dealing with it any more that day. Then about 445pm Justin sandbach calls me to inquire about the internet sales lead he had from earlier that day, to call me from the online vehicle search I did. I basically told him I was frustrated with dealing with any more salesman that day and wasnt sure I could handle any more, he told me he understand, and asked me to explain the situation. I told him the home work I did, what car I was looking at, and what the other dealers were willing to do as a best price to sell their car to me and best money for my trade. He understood my stress from the day and didnt blow any smoke my way. He threw his best deal at me 1 time, told me he would get the car from another dealership, didnt mess up the rebates, new what the rebates were, didnt try to sell me a different car he had, communicated with me through text to keep me posted after hours, was up front about all fees and or lack of. included tax title and license, and assured me there were no hidden costs, and there wouldnt be any debating on trade once I got there. I have to drive 130 miles tomorrow to his dealership to pick up the car and trade mine in. If all goes the way he promised me, I will be posting an update to let you know how it goes after I actually get there to sign papers and experience this place in person. So far im thrilled and excited to meet Justin and experience this transaction, that he made look so simple to do. Lets see how it goes when I get there because after this, I probably wont buy from my local kia dealer ever again, because my worse experience in this purchase was with them and this would have been my 4th kia from them in 5 years, not to mention the 3 refers I sent them that they sold cars too. Im assuming because they have no other kia dealers around them for 130 miles. They figure they can just treat me any way and I will still buy If im loyal to kia. But!! I will drive to where ever I have to get my best experience.
