I personally had an awful experience at this establishment. I went in looking for a beer that I did not expect them to have, but thought it would be a good chance to check out a new place. Their beer coolers were in disarray, but I was cool with that. I spent some time checking through everything before the owner asked what I was looking for. I told him, and then was scoffed at for thinking they might still have that seasonal beer. I told him I understood that and it was just a long shot because I saw it listed online as in stock there. He then asked what beer I wanted. I told him I just wanted to keep browsing, but he kept pressuring me saying that I must have come in for some type of beer and to just tell him. I told him again that I just wanted to browse and he still pushed and said that the hawks would be on in a couple hours and that I should just buy a beer already. Throughout this process he became increasingly hostile, despite me staying calm and polite. Soon he rubbed me the wrong way enough though that I decided to leave. As I started to walk out he said "yeah, see Im not the type to f**k around" with people like you. That struck me as especially odd because I had just come from work and was wearing a button down oxford shirt, pressed dress pants, and shined dress shoes. I am an especially polite person, and only expressed curiosity in what beers he had available. After he said that comment I did lose my temper some and told him I probably would have bought some beer from him if he wasnt such a d**k. I said this as I walked out the door and he proceeded to follow me and call me every name in the book. As I walked across the street to my car he threatened to fight me and then called me a pu**y for not fighting him. As I walked across I could hear him saying "Im right here big man, where you going?" and other similar comments. I will admit to losing my temper after he cursed at me, but everything I have said here is the truth. I did not leave out anything said or done by either party. The owner was pushy, impatient, rude, demeaning, and downright hostile. He ran me out of his establishment for wanting to explore his beer selection, and was willing to fight me in the street for no further provocation than what I have mentioned here. The most preposterous thing is up until I lost my temper I was exceptionally polite and nice to this man. I was even going to walk out of his establishment quietly after being looked down upon for wanting a certain beer and then being borderline harassed for wanting to look through his selection. I love trying new beers and just wanted to see what he had here. His variety was poor though, and his stock was old. I probably still would have bought a beer or two just to be polite, since I did see a couple I had not tried. Because of his actions I will never go there again though, and would advise anyone considering this place to take their money elsewhere. Update - It seems like from other sites that this store has recently undergone a management change. You might consider that when reading my review in comparison to others here. Yelp reviews list new management as abrasive, mean, sloppy, and not up to par with new management. What a shame.

This business has changed management/ownership in the last 18 months. It has transformed into wine heaven. The owner is very knowledgable with wine and even invited me taste his wine picks of the day with a great conversation about wine in general. I did not go in anticipating to buy a bottle but his warm spirit - knowledge - appreciation and intrigue for the customer and wine really made me feel welcome so I decided to purchase my favorite chardonnay from the tasting. So excited to live near this wine gem! He also carries beer and the selections are wonderful and beautifully displayed!

Favorite sandwiches in Lincoln Park, hands down! This place definitely has a European-style deli vibe--lots of olives, baguettes, and wonderful deli meats. My favorite sandwich is the Barcelona--ham, cheddar cheese and some sort of amazing chipotle cole slaw. Heads up: theres a minimum charge of $10 for credit cards. Also, you can dine inside but the 5 stars is definietly for the food, not the ambiance. Great to take the sandwiches to the park for a picnic :)

I simply asked if they carried 3 Flyods beer and was rudely told that its not available for "just some guy off the street" presumably saving it for locals/regulars. He asked if I wanted anything else, which I did not and he was clearly irritated by this. He sarcastically told me to have a nice day as he walked away. I was speechless and in complete shock. His level of rudeness was almost comical. This place is like an SNL skit.

Not sure if this has changed owner recently, but I dont recognize the negative reviews. We discovered this place a few months ago and now its our go-to liquor store - primarily because the couple who run it are so incredibly friendly, and although the store is relatively small it has an excellent range of beer, wine, and spirits. They also have a deli counter. We like it. Theyre nice people.

Yum! This place is awesome and I dont know how it isnt packed all the time! The sandwich ingredients are phenomenal and someone who knows sandwiches has obviously taken time to design tasty sandwiches with developed flavors. The sandwiches arent expensive either! The only downside is there are only a few two-top tables so it is better to get a to-go order and eat elsewhere.

absolutely horrible customer service. Dispectful and impatient. Harassed me for "just looking" at the wines. Left bc I was so uncomfortable and got a bottle at Trader Joes, which I recommend over this place.
