Roach Infested! We saw roaches crawling on the tables, floors and walls. One got on a plate of food and was eating away. Others would run out to drink spilled wine. The girls in our group were jumping out of their skins. Dont sit, lean or put your purse down or you may take a roach home with you. The bathrooms were disgusting like no one ever cleaned them. I told the employees about the roaches. They acted like they didnt know but a yelp review from 20 days before says otherwise. One 8-9-16 the reviewer says there were two roaches that on the table. So how can the employees not know. They should have closed the for fumigation. I have called the board of health to make a report. There is one pool table and a bean bag throwing game which was fun. The whole place has a stale smell. They told us on the phone they have air conditioning but when we got there it wasnt on. They opened the doors but it was hot and humid. No fans so the air was stagnant. We were sweating in our nice clothes. It was dead on a Saturday night maybe they cant afford to spray for roaches or turn on the ac. The employees had plenty of time on their hands to clean the bathroom. Speaking of bathrooms the red title floors make the place look like a huge bathroom. The rest of the decor was nice. The place looks good in photos but the images dont capture the depressing feel. None of it fits for a place that charges $24 for a few pieces of cheese and bread on a board or $10 for a small glass of wine that wasnt very good. Maybe the roaches have expensive overpriced taste.

If I could give zero stars I would. Was out for a drive and thought I would drop in since the sign said OPEN - it was about noon. Drove into the back parking lot and walked in. There were no other customers, but me. I saw at least 5 people working in the store and chatting to one another. As I walked through each isle of wine racks looking at the varieties I kept glancing at the help thinking at some point I would be greeted. I walked through the whole store (took me about 10 minutes) and not one peep out of anyone. You would think for a brand new store that they would be all over me, but it was just the opposite. I saw a recent Groupon for this store and said to myself youve got to be kidding me if you think I would ever come back. I also spoke with a friend who went into the store and they also commented that the service was horrible. The store may look snazzy, but if the customer service is so bad that they cant even say hello why would anyone want to come back. Maybe I wasnt dressed to the nines. Who knows, but if I was manager all the help would be fired!

I really hate to do this as I totally support the San Diego Brew Project that is located inside 57 Degrees. Also Im just not a fan of negative reviews in general. However this is the third time I have been to 57 Degrees and despite all of the negative reviews they still have not improved their customer service. Every time I go, I try to give it a chance, but I have been disappointed again and again. I studied viticulture and enology at UCDavis and I like a ton of different wines, but I remain unimpressed with their selection. Even most of the bartenders are good at their jobs, but if the management is a downer it brings the staff down as well. The atmosphere is very poor because it is so open and sparse. The furniture is dirty and not very well laid out. Since it is such a huge space they play their music too loudly so it is difficult to talk with anyone. The food is pretty terrible, but I dont think they actually have a restaurant license so I guess its not their fault.

Never been to S.D. before. So my question was, imo, a good one. Our waitress, cant remember the name, a blonde mid 20s. I asked, "can you recommend a local dark beer?" I could almost read the look of disgust on her face as she replied. She told me every beer they had was on a sign and walked off. What? It was dark in there and Im not as young as I used to be. I had to get up and walk to the sign and find a beer to order. It was good, food was good too. To be fair the other lady who showed up with shorter hair was nice and chatted to my wife and i. A guy came over who worked there and we talked about real estate. I was disappointed in the 1st lady. She even had a guy show up to see her at work and hugged up on him. She pretty much ignored us. The other two workers made up for her and thats why I left a three. Its confusing where to sit or what to do when you walk in. There is seating but you dont know if its reserved or you have to sit at the bar.

I arrived with a colleague for an advertised special on wine tasting. The doors were open and there were signs inviting us in - appeared very welcoming. We sat at the bar with several other customers and were not approached by any staff. After several minutes, one of the other customers asked a staff member and we were told that they were having plumbing problems and would not be serving. Embarrassed and surprised, I emailed the proprietor the following morning and very politely explained what had happened, thinking that this must be an atypical occurrence and also thinking that he would want to know about it. He emailed a terse response telling me that there were several other venues nearby and that we should try one of those next time instead. Certainly not a place I would recommend to anyone.

I have to RAVE about 57 Degrees wine bar today! I had an event there last week for a clients 50th Birthday Celebration. I have to say, Russ and Carly went above and BEYOND my expectations. They were quick to respond to any and every request before the day of the event and on site. Carly was easy to work with and very professional. The owner, Russ was incredibly warm and friendly. He worked out a special wine tasting menu for our group and even was the one to pour for us on the night of the event! The client was blown away with the event, and the guests raved about it as well. Thank you for all of your help and I cant wait to come back.

Ive been going to 57 Degrees for a year and now go on a regular basis. The owner personally helps me select my wine purchases from the retail store and has never steered me wrong. The service at the wine bar is also excellent. The staff is wonderful at making me feel like family. That goes a long way for me; especially since Im not from here. The decor is like nothing Ive ever experienced in my travels. This is a very unique place with friendly staff and patrons. If I could rate it a 5, I would. Oh, they also have fun wine tasting events. Definitely a place to check out.
