I use to go to Pep boys years ago in a different state (NC) to get minor maintence and tire work done on my vehicles when needed. Stopped attending and began to go to meineke and midas because of some BS they charged me before that was unnecessary, so i figured hey im in a different state maybe ill try them again after all these years see if they have improved......needless to say nothing has changed. I hate doing reviews but as a person who doesnt know anybody in the area or where anything is, I relied on the internet to provide me with a shop that may assist me. So I Went to this store to get my check engine light looked at and diagnosed after the one on W Manchester didnt have the guy there to do it so he referred me to other locations. So i called the closest one hoping my vehicle would make it there. Already it was one guy waiting in the waiting room when I pulled up to this location and a lady in front of me. Nice elderly lady said she been going there for years but the guy at the desk taking her information appeared to have an attitude she said as he walked outside to get something real quick. Even though it did, I just shook my head a little and chuckled and agreed. In my head i was thinking hey its 10:30 am on a friday he probably is having a tough morning. Besides everyone cant be happy all the time right give him a break lady. Well Ill at least try to be nice and make it simple for him. You know try to make it easier. So as he took her information and walked with her outside another lady came in behind me and we both waited for him to return to take our info and leave. The lady behind me had an appointment but i didnt. She was bringing in parts to get put on. The guy came back in and informed him what i was looking to do and he said its $89.99. I said great no problem and that cost will go towards the repair right? He said no its additional. I said are you sure the other store told me it was included in the repair if you have it done. He said nope its additional. I said hmmmm ok well lets do it anyway. Filled out the paper work and then sat in the the wait room. The lady behind me did the same and sat down beside me. Politely asked me about my repair. She sais excuse did I hear that it was extra for you to have them look at it? I said yea i believe that is what he said which is strange because the other stores told me it wasnt. She said yeeeeeaaa i dont think that is true it sounds like he is trying to get over on you. Normally to diagnosis it is free at a lot of places and if you get it done its not extra. She nudged another lady in the waiting area to ask her the same thing and the lady agreed. She said you should go ask someone else to make sure or even speak with a manager dont let that guy charge you extra. So i stepped outside for a minute to call the other stores in the area they all confirmed the same thing that it is included in the repair not extra. So i walked back inside up to the front desk and this time a female employee was there. She was working the front desk just there for a minute so I asked her the same thing and she said she thought it was included as well unless something has changed. Said shell double check with the manager and make sure aaannddd guess who the manager was? The rude guy who was behind the desk the whole time. So I asked him again in front of her because the other store said the diagnosis cost should be included in the repair cost if its done there.(which i was planning to do) he said normally but it stopped because it was a "promotion". The employee looked surprised and the female customer looked at me like with the (you should take your business elsewhere then look) i just figured its a little strange how its the only store in the area not running that "promotion" anymore. Well needless to say i went back to my old shop because im not about to get screwed over by them. Granted I paid $129 for the it at the other Midas but you know what it was INCLUDED in my repair cost. Thanks for reminding me why I stopped going to Pep Boys years ago. Fool me once shame on me.

Very slow process management dont seem to get along front end supervisor not sure what his name was very rude no customer service whatsoever. Theres a Girl by the name of Teenie she tried her hardest to turn my negative situation into a positive I paid $1,700 for shocks replacement 3 days later ABS wires were hanging scraping wheel. Im not sure if these people see the big picture inconvenience to the customer driving unsafe vehicle this could have been dramatic for myself and my family. I will not be returning. There was no compensation for the inconvenience. No reimbursement for towing my car do too unprofessional tech not applying screw to ABS to secure to shock. Pep Boys if you review this please give me a call or reply to this message you guys have all my information you need make the situation right feel free to reach out at any time. Keep in name Pep Boys name stands behind your quality. You might want to hire quality control specialist at your place to get this running smoothly.

I went in for my batterty with 3 year warranty they told me they were testing it as im wait aproximitly 15 min i go to the register and ask them how much long it will be they told me 40 min for it to fully test and charge yet they couldnt have told me in the first place that they where charging it and it would be a hr plus wait at this point i leave the batterty to charge then i call them to ask them if it is ready yet cant you cannot clearly distinguish what he is trying to say and ask me for my name i give it to him and yet he ask me for it 3 times when i have clearly said it then after he puts me on hold for the 2nd time to check the batterties and as he tells me yes its ready i ask him if its a faulty cell or if it was just discharged and he hangs up on me very bad customer service

Trash service. They dont even know what they are doing. Cant trust their analysis of your cars. Will tell you somethings wrong with your car when in fact that has nothing to do with the problem. And they overcharge for work they dont even do. Charged me 422 for work they didnt even do. Dont go here avoid at all costs. Rather have a street mexican work on my car on the side of the street then take me car back to this establishment. And dont get me started on how slow they are. I thought I would go here for the location convenience. Worst decision ive made in my whole life. Trust me you could go anywhere else in la county and get better service and save money. Disgrace to the pep boys name. I should sue them thats how angry i am with myself at trusting the pep boys name smh
