Authentic food. Tacos as they are meant to be. Excellent place to watch meaningful international soccer. You may watch from the small bar, next to the kitchen, or sitting at the "restaurant", a small room between kitchen and store. Meanwhile having a couple of tacos and a Negra Modelo. Attentive service, informal, you grab your beer yourself from their fridge. Hard to beat.

As a Mexican-food enthusiast, I am known to be critical of the excellence of a taco. Don’t bring your standard taco bell toward me. This being said, La Mexicana has the highest level of taco supremacy I have ever encountered. Hands down, finest, most authentic tacos I have had in my life.

The pack of pork tamales I bought were fantastic. I didnt get to check out the rest of it, but the service was friendly and helpful and it looked like they had plenty of other items in stock. As far as authentic Mexican food, this place is tops.

Worse service ever!!!! Over charge for chilaquiles and when we asked the cashier, he was very unprofessional.we also notice a rotten smell coming out of the meat fridge. I worry about those people who get groceries for there.

The store is great. The food is bettet. I lived in San Diego for 30 years. Mexican food is a main staple down there. This restaurant would be among the best in town.
