We dropped into PG Saturday to look for a Game Cube memory card. While they didnt have that, they did have something wed had in the back of our minds: Super Mario 3 for the original NES. We had just gotten our NES out of storage and couldnt find any games, so we scooped it up and drove home excitedly. When we plugged in the NES and went to insert the cartridge, we realized that, no joke, Super Mario 3 was already in the console! We hadnt even taken the game out of the package, so we drove back the next day to ask if we could exchange it for Super Mario 2, which was $15 (we paid $18 for SM3). They wouldnt do anything for us. What a waste. $18 bucks for a used game, and then a no-return/no-exchange policy? Were sticking with Game Stop.

Pink Gorilla International District is an average store. A neat selection of retro and new gaming inventory, but cramped quarters bring the atmosphere down. The store can also be a bit dark. Staff is helpful, just dont be afraid to ask. Others have commented on not being helped without asking and, while true, this is the case in many places. Simply ask for assistance and it will be there. The thing that helps the stores rating massively is the competitive pricing. A used 3DS with charger, stylus and SD card runs about $80, and you can play test it on-site. While not the best Pink Gorilla location, this is a good store for the old and new gamer.

What a great customer experience! They were over the top when it came to explaining why my old nes system/game was not working. He knew all kinds of history regarding that specific game and is obviously in the right business as it was clear he had a real passion for this stuff. The selection was good, not great, but spanned virtually every major system over the last 20 years so...

Guy was helping another customer and waited 10 minutes to acknowledge me. Then told me to come back tomorrow evening even though the store didnt close for 25 minutes. He told me he should be using the last hour of opening to clean the store, which is probably a 20 minute job because the store is so tiny (and should be done after closing if there are customers).

I felt a bit unwelcomed. I came to see if I could sell some older games. They werent the best games, but I knew that. The guy working there took a look and said he wasnt interested in them. No other interaction with that. I had to ask why. Customer service, guys. At least be a little friendly. Ill spend my money somewhere else.

Huge letdown. Felt very unwelcomed. First time visiting the store so I was browsing through games I havent seen in 15 years - should be a fun experience. I went it to buy a 3ds but ended up leaving. The kid running the register just acted like I was bothering him the entire time and it ruined things for me.

With a knowledgeable staff an a wide selection it is always great to be able to find the game or system youre looking for. Never hesitate if we have a question for the staff is more than welcome to come to your aid. Prices have always seem fair.

The place is amazing, tiny, but jam packed with imported games, consoles and toys. PC Engine, the whole famicom classics collection for gameboy, etc. This is a landmark. If youre into import game systems or games, visit it.

Games are in good condition. Some of their games are actually cheaper than online. They have games that u cant find at other places. Both of their locations have no parking, that is quite annoying.
