I was visiting a friend in Seattle for a week. With 5 days left I decided to get a small part of my sleeve filled in. I called 3 shops in the area including Cicada. They called me right back after they opened and told me to swing by the shop that day. The other shops got back to me after 2 days. I took the short trip to Aurora Ave where their shop is located. Walked in and after a quick chat my appointment was set for 2 days before I left Wasington. Afterwords I sent my ideas to their shop email. My artist of choice was Darryl Duncan, you can check out is work on their website. He was great dude! When I showed up for my appointment, a half an hour early i might add, he had the stencil drawn out already, exactly what I wanted. After some resizing, we got down to tattooing. Darryl was one of the quickest artists I have had but did fantastic work. Very detailed and great work with shadows and color. He was one of those artists that really loved to talk while working with for me is a huge bonus. It can be an uncomfortable and painful experience as Im sure you are all aware. For me, a good conversation distracts me. I ended up paying a little more than expected but after a great experience overall it was well worth it. I highly recommend this shop. Seattle is full of great artists as well as shops, but pick Cicada Tattoo if you want a detailed and affordable tattoo on a tight schedule.

Walked in expecting to get a simple small tattoo of a cat and a few crows and ended up with something way larger than I had wanted and so different than what I had originally asked for. Robert refused to make it any smaller even though if you look at his work he has done small designs and didnt put the specific cat I showed him a picture of. It was pushed more of what he wanted to tattoo rather than specifically what I wanted on my body permanently. The tattoo is colored so splochly and my skin ended up being scarred and over a year later Im even more unsatisfied than when I got it done.

My lady and I have come here several times for various peices (mainly from Robert who I would highly recommend) and have never been anything but stoked walking away from these guys. Great work, very little tattitude, and a chill space for it all. lady and I plan on returning soon!

On a trip with my boyfriend we decided to get tattoos and called up cicada based on other reviews. We got a next day appointment with jason. He quickly drew up our designs and did an amazing job, at a great price. We will definitely be back.

I went here to have my sleeve worked on, it is a hodgepodge of work by a few artists, being in the navy I moved astound a bit for a few years. Will was my artist and so far hes done an amazing job! Thanks Will! I will be back!
