Ive never been to a BR before, but I was going with a friend who couldnt stop talking about it. I dont like shopping, but I made the effort to find some clothes that look nice. After some searching I found a great pair of shorts and a great pair of pants. Tried them on, they fit well, and I exited the dressing room. Thats when things went bad. The dressing room assistant asked how things went. I said, "great, this is what Im keeping," and made the mistake of handing her the clothes. I dont know dressing room etiquette, but I do know customer service. Instead informing me to just hang onto the clothes, she took them and had them put back on the shelves. Ill reference my prior thought: I dont like shopping. The idea of having to it twice for the same clothes left a bad taste in my mouth. After much pushing and prodding from my friend, I went back an hour later to get the shorts. They tried to make up for it with coupons and discounts, both of which I refused, but the damage was done and I will never be returning. Ive had exceptionally better service at the Gap or a department store, and in 30 minutes at BR I had more people shoving offers in my face than my junk mail folder. It only got worse when the "dj" started. In the future, Ill be taking my money somewhere that treats the customers like humans, and not just the dollar figure in their bank account.

I came here with a friend and benefitted dearly from his employee discount -- wouldnt have shopped here otherwise. Their clothes are eminently stylish and professional. They feel like New York. I got a blazer here and its classy attire like youd wear to a dinner. I paid $125, from an original $250. A reasonable price would be somewhere in the middle. I doubt their materials are that much more expensive than those at sister companies Gap and Old Navy; because they target the older and the richer they can get away with it. The problem is that these clothes are made in sweatshops. The Gap Company is notorious for this, and has demonstrated repeated resistance to common sense reforms. They refused to sign off on the improved labor conditions agreement a few years ago, suggesting they would go their own route. There is no explanation for this other than that they think the rules dont apply to them. Its a shame that such a professional brand produces clothes using low-wage and child labor. Corporations as large and influential as Gap have a responsibility to use their power appropriately, and that means a decent living wage, reasonable hours, and appropriate benefits for all their employees.

Recently went here to return a pair of jeans I had purchased. The manager was ringing me up and everything was fine until I let slip that I had worn the jeans once. At that point the manager said they could not take the item back. When I confronted her that I was being punished for being honest, she said that she "could tell they had been washed and worn." She did not know that they had been worn for 30 seconds, only to try them on again, and had never been washed. Thats the equivalent of charging someone full price for trying on a pair of jeans. Next time Ill keep the tags on, wear the same pair of jeans for 30 days and then return them to meet the guidelines of their return policy. Do your self a favor and spend your hard earned cash somewhere that has a sense of loyalty to their customers and a sensible return policy. Avoid this place.

I paid for a shirt using my card and when took it back for refund this is how they refunded me. The cashier put an order in the system to send me $17.08 worth of gift certificate and he paid me $4.63 in cash ( singles and pennies ) and the Store manager was helping him too! This is not how I paid you Banana Republic!

Beautiful store and great staff. The only thing I would say is that the summer visuals are not as well planned as the fall and winter collections. Its always quite messy and hard on the eye during summer at this store in particular for some reason.

Of all the clothing stores downtown, the staff here are the most friendly Ive encountered. For the price, the product is top notch. Ill continue to come to this Banana Republic as long as I live in Seattle.

The customer service at this store was phenomenal and willing to go the extra mile in order to help my husband be ready for an interview. I will be giving my business to Banana Republic even more now.
