When buying 2nd hand jewelry, you must look at several factors: 1). Is this item have any resale value in this establishment... Generally speaking, jewelers are not only selling a product, but a piece of artwork that is tailored by the jeweler or an apprentice. This is what separates a fine jeweler from say, Fred Meyers or Zales. 2). When you enter a jewelry store, you will notice a huge array of custom pieces. Not all of those rings may end up selling, so they may need modifications or even a complete recycling. The latter requires either mass electricity or propane to complete the hour smelt. The high heat is pricey and there is always risk of AU loss involved. 3). Cut gemstones have little resale value, so the bulk of the potential revenue of selling a ring is namely the AU (gold), as it is still the victor of currency. A ring may look large, but the gold weight and purity will talk. So not only do you have to factor in a profit for the buyer, but you also must factor in his time and cost to make that piece sellable in his shop. Hosford Prospectings recommendation; If you are worried about the price one is willing to pay, try the next shop... If you dont like their assessment, keep going. But never bad mouth the potential buyer because you may circle back around to them in the future. If the ring is actually worth what you say, you should have no hard feelings as the next jeweler may see it your way...

We are very happy with our custom wedding bands that we bought in 2008.... The only reason Im only putting 4 stars instead of 5..... Is the new employee "Kim" has a few credibility issues. Bob you have always been amazing along with the rest of your staff...with the exception of KIM! Kim you dont have to tweak things to get the sale & attempt to manipulate the husband. The reason why we chose to always buy from Bonaci is the integrity, honesty, and financial responsibility this company values. Kim seems to come from what we always saw from the "other guys". Im sure Ill change this review to 5 stars after our next visit.

Love this Jeweler... What I like about Bonaci Jewelers is their team approach ethics their customers come 1st. I also like the years of experience they have, Their employees all have years of on the job experience and know what they are taking about and their custom designer is top notch and has been in the business going on over 40 years. Experience, value and true sincerity is what you will receive. I would never go any where else. Been a Customer for over 10 years... Thank you Bob, Jeff, Kim & Kari you are all awesome :)

I brought a diamond ring in with a total carat weight of 2.51 carats as well as a certified GIA appraisal reflecting the value of the ring at $6,300. The tall lanky gentleman I spoke with said the ring was only worth $400 because 18 karat gold has no value and he would chop the diamonds up and put them in smaller rings clearly this guy is not certified to evaluate the characteristics of a diamond and is a cheapskate cutthroat. I dont ever recommend anybody doing business here at all.
