I was very disappointed in the service and "expertise " of the staff at Sportco. We purchased two Walther PPKs, and from the very beginning our experience was miserable and frankly embarrassing. We were made to feel like we were bothering the staff if we asked any questions, or even showing up for our actual purchase seemed to be an inconvenience. Later, when we came in to pick up our guns the staff was cold and indifferent, almost rude. I have never in my life purchased a gun, I guess it was too much trouble to even bother opening the case for a brief tutorial, nope, just plopped the cases on the counter; here you go! I asked what kind of ammo to get, barely understood his answer, then spent 20 mins trying to figure it out on my own, even googling it right there in front of them. Finally, went back up to the counter and asked for help again, he rattled off some answer that I still didnt understand. We stood there awkwardly, I kind of laughed and said sorry weve never done this before... They just stared as us! Finally my guy said, "well, whats that ammunition on the counter behind you, will that work? Yes that will work so they plopped that down on the counter for us. It was a really ridiculous experience, I would never do business with them again. I am concerned that they are letting people walk out with guns without care or concern for safety and/or basic understanding of the weapon. Not to mention as my guy said, we could have been up sold, we were interested ammo, gun safe, holsters... To name a few. So in summary, I would never go here again for a gun, especially being a woman, theyre jerks.

I ordered a fishing reel specifically for a fishing tournament. Delivery time was nearly ten days, on their normal delivery option, should have used a faster delivery time, nonetheless i was excited that the order arrived before the day of the tourney and anticipated fishing with my new reel. Well, the package was a small flat envelope that contained some type of cartridge for a PFD jacket... no fishing reel. Contacted sport-co and they apologized and attempted to expedite a new order, no luck and outta time. Had to rush to a local store and buy a different fishing reel that I didnt really want. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with their service. I hope this was one time incident and is not happening to other customers.

Beware of internet sales. After a long wait my order showed up defective and missing parts. Immediately contacted customer service for replacement...a month later the exact same product arrives with the same exact defect and missing part. Contacted customer service immediately, told that a new product and return label would be sent immediately...that was 3 weeks ago. Its been almost 2 months since my order was originally placed, and its still not resolved. I live less than 200 miles away?! I have ordered many things off the internet over the years, this is by far the worst service I have ever received. Good price, but not worth the hassle.

Gun counter guy was a less than pleased when asked about a 6.5 creedmoore for my son. Like I was bothering him and he had better stuff to do than try and sell me my sons first rifle. So....i will now go somewhere else and buy it. Couldnt get any help at the knife counter from the employees that were there, my youngest boy said hi to the man and he wouldnt even say "Hi" to a 4 year old. GREAT JOB!! thee only nice one that was there was the check out girl and that is the one and only reason I am giving this place 2 stars and not 1. I will now go spend my money at bass pro shops rather than this place. Unbelievable how rude the guys were!

I love this place! Ive been coming here for years and every time I find myself drawn to Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops I look but then I come here to make the purchase. They have the largest fishing section I have ever seen in a store, their gun counter is long and well stocked and they have a great selection of camping and outdoor gear all at MUCH better prices than the fancy stores. Go look at the other places but when youre ready to buy dont forget to stop by Sportco and save some money.

Obviously all these people talking about "friendly customer service" have never been to the gun counter. Unhelpful, disinterested, and arrogant are the best words I can find to describe the service Ive received there. Ive actually been standing at the counter and had several salespeople simply ignore my existence when Ive spoken to them. The rest of the store is fine, but there are serious service problems in the gun/shooting supplies department.

DO NOT GO HERE !!!!! They have a very good selection of outdoor items but it is not worth going there and being followed around the whole time by paranoid employes. Also dont expect good customer service unless you look like you have a high amount of dollars in your pocket. I have bought almost all my work clothing there but I was just in about 5 minutes ago and they still have bad customer service so its last time Im going there.

I have to say that Sportco has been awesome for me. Art at the fishing counter helped me the other day with a broken sst and all I can say is thank you for the top of the line service. He went above and beyond my expectations. My first stop for all fishing and hunting gear is Sportco. Best prices and great customer service. Daryl at the fishing counter has been really helpful too. No No No! These guys are 5 STAR! They carry name brands and good budget conscious products. When it comes to tackle and hunting arms you have to get the best and Sportco has it, but if you dont need a $500 day pack they have great affordable stuff here. But the best thing about these guy is they will help you If you dont know about something. You can ask here without embarrassment.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Answered all my questions and advised me on what was available and what suited my personal preference. I was greeted in a friendly/helpful manner several times by different employees as I browsed the store. Will definitely be giving them my business in the future.

Ive been a member for about a year. Ive had really great service and sometimes mediocre service but at what retail store do you ever have great service 100% of the time. Their selection is good for a typical outdoor store. Would be nice if they cared a better clothing and jacket selection.

Getting ready for bow season and it was time to break out my old pse. they had to MAKE a new string for it but they were able to make a new string, re tune, add and center my new sight, along with a few other nick nacks for me all before the end of the day. For cheaper than I expected too

Went in to ask about firearms and ammunition that they offer. Prices werent bad, and had a fair selection, but the service at the counter was rude and demeaning. Hopefully there are better employees in other departments, but I probably wont be making any special trips to this store.
