2 reviews AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. 1.0 star rating 5/20/2016 I took my 1993 F350 Diesel to the Federal Way location of Pepboys in the middle part of March this year to have the truck given a complete going over for an trip to Mexico starting the first of April. When all said and done the bill was over $5,000.00 to have all the work done. Of the items that were supposed to be fixed, a oil leak on the passenger side of the motor, a new fuel sending unit on the front tank, there was also a vibration from the rear drive line that needed to be repaired. I was told that the entire rear nose cone on the transfer case needed to be replace and i was told that it was, but now there is gear oil leaking out of the rear seal. Also the linkage for the the four wheel drive was not installed correctly so the truck cannot be shifted into four wheel drive. There is now also a large mess under the truck from all the oil being flung all over the place. There is still an oil leak on the passenger side of the truck I returned the truck to the Pepboys the day after I picked up the truck only to be told that it would take longer to fix the issues. I let Pepboys know via an email that I would return the truck to them when I returned to from Mexico The week after my trip I took my children on a three day getaway and I did not need my truck for the time we were gone. I took the truck to the Pepboys and dropped it off thinking that three days would be more than enough time to fix the issues. When I picked up the truck, I found that all of the issues that I had asked to be taken care of, none had been address and I was told that I need to bring the truck back at a later date (I was not given a firm date) and I was told that parts needed to be ordered to fix the issues. It has now been four weeks since I have heard anything from the shop and now I am trying to have the exhaust repaired on the truck and I cannot because of the fuel leak. A week ago I sent Pepboys corporate office an email and I have not received any responses from them either. I think it is time to consult a lawyer.

My husband and I were in a real bind a week and a half ago, we broke down on the highway and just barely made it to their parking lot. Our car was over heating and the steering wheel wouldnt budge. The guy tried to say something was clogged around the cooling fluid. Then when he went to check it some cooling fluid sprayed out and the guy said "Ive never seen that before." He then went on to say that we would have to do a full diagnostic of the car and they would have to keep it there for a couple days... This was all completely bogus. We decided to look under the hood ourselves and noticed that the serpentine belt came off its track. It was literally in plain view, we saw it immediately and fixed it... We then tried to figure out why our cooling fluid sprayed out when the guy touched it, we found out. ITS SUPPOSED TO DO THIS. When the engine is too hot the fluid is supposed to spray out. (Anybody who knows anything about cars should of known that)... Bottom line, we ended up fixing the car ourselves (two people who dont know anything about cars) using youtube videos and got back on the road. It now runs better than before. This Pep Boys is either completely incompetent, or they are out for your money. I am so glad we didnt end up working with them. Please avoid this auto service.

Amazing Experience Federal Way, WA. PEPBOYS- I was driving on I-5 South at 4:00am on my way to Portland OR for military training. I unfortunatly was attacked by a blanket that wrapped around my drive shaft at 65MPH. Needless to say my tires came to a complete stop and I spun out of control. I luckily did not come into contact with another car or any objects and was towed to the Federal Way Pepboys off 16th AVE. I sat in there parking lot from 5:00AM until 7:AM (when they open) where I was greeted by friendly staff. Due to my car being All Wheel drive we could not simply move/push it onto a lift so the manager called up a favor and had a towtruck with a "stinger" move my care safely into a bay. The team worked on my until they untagled and removed all blanket material that was wrapped around the drive shaft. I dont know how it is possible but I was able to drive away at 10:30am and continue down to Portland, a little later than expected! After all of the hard work the guys at the shop put into my car they wished me luck and handed me over a $0.00 charge and said I had gone through enough that morning. If you know the men who worked on my car please tag them in this post so they can get my most sincere thanks. I recommend the 16th AVE Pepboys to all!

If I could give zero stars I would. Came in to get my brakes checked out and said theyd get back to me in an hour. Four hours later the car has finally been "inspected" and the quote for repair is 2x the price as a quote we got from Les Schwab. Service is slow and unprofessional. Called and told them wed be in to pick it up and be fixing it elsewhere and when we stopped by to pick it up the car STILL wasnt put together. What started as a quick 1hour fix has turned into a full 5 HOUR ORDEAL!!! Unprofessional. Unorganized. I spent my entire day off waiting. Never again. UPDATE: Went into Les Schwab instead and half the things Pep Boys said was wrong wasnt even wrong. We were in and out of Les Schwab within an hour and a half and everything is fixed and working great. And it only cost $450 instead of the $1,300 Pep Boys quoted us. Reported this store to the BBB today. Do t ever go to this Pep Boys. Les Schwab is a few buildings away, go to them if you want fast and professional car card.

The boys at pep boys sure turned my Monday around. My morning commute went south when someone decided to turn into my lane and I had to hop a median to avoid an accident. This happened just before 7am and Im thinking tire shops dont open till 9. Noticed pep boys open sign and sure enough they were open early and in a positive mood ready to work. Came in feeling gloomy and left smiling. Nick spent so much time calling around trying to find someone with my rims, and called a friend who was able to give me a more than fair price. David drove on his day off to grab the rims. Best experience Ive ever had with any auto or tire shop. Normally, the prices keep going up or the mechanic continues to find things to add to the bill, but these boys did everything they could to get me back on the road at the cheapest rate possible. I appreciate all of you, thank you!

I had to get my truck towed there because the alternator was shot. First they locked my keys in the car and the only way for me to get my keys was to drive forty miles. They told me they would do nothing to reimburse me. Then they told me the job will done by 2 o clock. I decided to go there and at 3 o clock they told me that they had to go somewhere to get the part. So not only will they not be done at an hour later when they were supposed to be done but they havent even started. If they would have warned me then I would be totally fine with it. So finally they call me at 5 o clock (when I have to go to work) that the truck is done. If they would have told me that they were going to be 3 hours late on fixing it I could have planed on it. Wont be going back. Dont go there unless you have another key for your car.
