My fiance and I went to Home Depot this Saturday to get supplies for completing a plumbing job we have been working on. Quickly after entering the plumbing department we were approached by Carl. After carefully listening to what were working on and what we needed Carl gave us valuable pointers and advice that was completely worth the trip. Carl clearly loved his job and was able to make novice plumbers feel confident in the project we were doing. He made us as customers feel listened to and valuable to the business we entered, a rare thing this day and age. He even went above and beyond and approached us several more times as we walked around to make sure we were finding everything we needed as well as add to our ideas to make sure we had everything we needed to complete our project. This employee is a shining example of customer service at its finest. We will continue to shop at this Home Depot for all future projects.

I usually go to the "other" store, but after going to this HD because I a had a coupon, I have been converted. In particular, Rob, in building materials, was the epitome of customer service. I inquired about a building project I wanted to build for my daughters 6th birthday and he walked me through the materials, options and best plan to carry it out. He was AMAZING. That level of service cannot be matched. The other staff were wonderful as well, but HD dont let this guy go! Rob knows his stuff and he interacted with me in a way that didnt make me feel like I didnt know anything or that I "was out of my league" for attempting such a project. It was the perfect balance of encouragement and education. Way to go Rob!.... and way to go HD for having him as a member of your team.

I go here often. Staff always kind and eager to help. Staff often go beyond to help you get the job done. Affordable sales, returns are always hassle free. By contrast, surprisingly, our local ACE True Value is staffed by crotchety old men that refuse to help with any unorthodox/creative problem solving (the only kind I usually need), and are significantly overpriced. I pride myself in my fervent support of local businesses, so it is with a heavy heart I must confess our big box home improvement store beats the pants off our local shop in every category I can think of. I make the 40 minute round trip to this Home Depot over the literally 0.8 mile trip to the ACE. Every single time.

Ill try to keep this short. Home Depot must hire from the absolute bottom of the barrel. Ive had so many negative experiences with its employees that it would take a couple of pages to list them all. The Garden section is the worst. The people working there are often unhelpful, curt, ignorant, stupid or just plain hostile. The hardcore rednecks give credence to the new motto for the South: Southern Hostility. One thing Ive noticed is that turnover is rapid and frequent. This indicates a poor work environment. Possibly incompetent management. I simply cannot recommend the Williamsburg HD. The competition around the corner isnt perfect, but it is much better.

Purchased a hot water heater using their installation services. However, there were such poor reviews of the installer (Perez Enterprises) I called to cancel. Perez Enterprises told me that I had not been charged yet. Since I had not been send an order number or receipt via email so I assumed that was true. I then found out from my account that I had been charged. I had to call Home Depot customer service to get a refund but it took a long time because at I still had no order number or receipt. This process left a bad taste in my mouth.

We bought a dishwasher from Home Depot in Williamsburg and everything went well at the store but the deliverer/installer botched the job and we had to call an electrician. It costs us an extra $100. When we tried to get the installer or Home Depot to pay for it, it was a hassle and they never ended up coming back with anything. We would have had to hassle them again and again and who knows if that would have even helped. Its really frustrating. The deliverer/installer was MID.

Got a little indoor christmas tree here, good selection, good prices, so-so customer service. We asked if they could give us something to wrap the base of the potted tree in so it would spill dirt all over the place and we told "umm, well all we have is the regular size plastic bags" and then he even forgot to give us one at the end. Im sure they could have found something in the garbage to give us instead of just being lazy.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE AND EXPECT THE ITEM TO ARRIVE WHEN THEY SAY IT WILL!!! Ordered scaffolding in Nov., said two week delivery, did not arrive until January. Ordered a refrigerator last week, said it would be here this Feb. 13 or 14, now website says maybe the 21st. Cannot depend on them at all. Have a large shipment of home delivered milk coming and no place to put it. GREAT.

Was recently in this store, and when I asked somebody to help, a gentleman named Steve (Steven?) In an orange pole shirt for help, he was very rude, dismissive, and vulgar toward me. This attitude by an employee has made me decide to spend my future money around the corner, at Lowes.

Really easy to get in, get what I need, and get out! Employees are super helpful if you need them. Everyone Ive asked for help has spent as much time as it took to find what I was looking for, or even problem-solve a project I had going on!

Manly hardware store for men building things. Taught me how to chop wood on a wall, and that even I could cut glass using a simple tool and my bare hands. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to become more manly.

Disabled veteran discount no longer applies without the VA ID card instead of the state issued card, Lowes still honors it and they are the next light over. My business might just go somewhere else from now on.

Janet and Marsha were so nice. My nephew wanted something to build while he is in town, he is 5. They were so nice and helpful in assisting me with finding something. Thank you ladies!

Its a pretty good Home Depot. Its rarely busy, so if I dont spend forever just wandering around looking at things, is usually pretty quick.
