I like em. I think they can be a little grouchy sometimes but it is because a lot of people complain over small things. But that doesnt mean that they dont make mistakes, because they do and unfortuantely I was one of the people that got screwed over. Last semester I had come in for a book and they had said to come "tomorrow" because that particular book was to be transferred from Norfolk. I paid for the books I got that day and came back the next day. It was probably because I was being helped by the guy that doesnt know his job that well, but he said he didnt have my book and there was nothing he could do about it. At that time I was going to be late for class, I had a concussion from an accident and my car was breaking on the way there, so I just said its alright and made my way out. He began to get sarcastic with me (in from of other customers) ungenuinely apologizing until I walked out. I was having a terrible day already, and he was adding insult to injury. Turns out I actually paid for that book, and when I came back at the end of the semester I realized it and they werent able to give me a refund. But they did give me store credit that matched the value I paid for, so that was cool. I think they need to work a little more on customer service, but other than that this is a great place to buy and sell textbooks.

I would never purchase from this place again. I purchased two textbooks from the store about a month ago for the fall semester. The textbooks were for the Bio 101 lecture and lab at TCC Portsmouth. The lecture book sold to me was the correct one but when I went to do lab hwk on a Sun, 09 Sep, I realized that the Bio 101 lab book sold to me (General Laboratory Manual; ENCOUNTERS W/ LIFE 7th ed) was not the correct one. I had to go the McArthur mall to get the correct book in order to complete the assignment which was due on Mon, 10 Sep. On Tuesday, 11 Sep I brought the book back for refund but was denied. I have bank statements, the credit card used to purchase, and ID that proves I purchased the book from this store. I have purchased books from this store many times before and have never had a problem. Textbook brokers did not make a good faith effort to resolve the complaint. If a business makes a mistake they should fix it... PERIOD. Offering me %50 of my money back does not solve the problem. I feel as though I was robbed. I was sold a book incorrectly by Textbook Brokers and they refused to give me my money back. Businesses w/ poor business practices such as Textbook Brookers should be held accountable.

Ive been at tidewater community college for 3 years now, and Ive used textbook brokers since the beginning. I learned quickly that its best to rent books or buy the electronic versions when possible. Books are expensive and the staff know this. They helped me spend as little as possible and to only get what I need. They stay in contact with the instructors and advisors in order to stay updated with materials needed for classes. In addition to the expertise and wide range of options, they also offer a payment plan that lets you pay after you get your student disbursements. Text alerts, payment reminders... You cant go wrong. Its also much cheaper than Barnes and Noble and Amazon. Lastly, they even give away free pens and a wide variety of binders, free of charge. They focus on helping you achieve your goals, and thats all I can ask for. Thanks for being there.

I had bought a English 111 book and no longer needed it so went to sell if for what i could get the staff were very nice and welcoming . But when I found out I would only get $9 for a book I payed $63 for I was in shock. I returned home with my book and proceeded to go onto there website only to see they are selling a used English 111 book for $60. I will never try and sell another book here again.

The worst place to sell your books the girl gives me the lowest offer and then she completed the transaction and then tells me she can give me more money when I asked is that the best offer she could do...and when she tried to go back in the system she couldnt! Smh

Been going to textbook broker for three years always get my books from them. They have the cheapest prices and great customer service and they send reminder so I return my books on time. love them!
