I have always enjoyed my experiences at fresh market. Sadly my over all experience has been tainted by one particular employee who should think before speaking. I simply asked if I can have the seafood salad as my side or as an entree for the bistro meal. Keep in mind I was given it as a side just last week. She stated that they dont and I attempted to explain that they gave it to me last week. With attitude she said "well they shouldnt have" and didnt explain anything to me as to why. Now I only come here for the seafood salad so I decided I will just pass and asked my friend if I should just get the pound. While talking to her another woman started ordering her bistro meal and as the worker was talking to her I stepped aside. A remark from the worker stating "well as I was trying to tell this lady over here..." loudly and pointing to me in the store. I didnt buy anything from her because I refuse to be humiliated while spending mass amounts of my hard earned money for food I simply asked a question about. I do not put up with a rotten attitude and will not buy from her again. Either train your employees to follow the same protocol or hire people with some resoect.

Over-rated and extremely expensive. I have seen better competing stores in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. area where I lived in past. I miss Trader Joes... I wish there was one in the area... Cashiers stopped me several times because they thought the transactions were incomplete while I saw the notice on the screen that the receipt would be emailed to designated email address after I have swiped my card. The management should teach them if this is a new option/procedure though. I felt a little bit racism in some employees especially once, in the vegetables section an employee (a young White man) was singing very loudly while I was searching nearby for fruits. I did not feel it was respectful. I do not know whether those behaviors correlate with the result of presidential election and my ethnicity or not.

The most beautiful, healthy, mouth watering, gastronomical meat department Ive come across! Wonderful people, produce, seafood & sushi, too. Then theres the candy counter of Godiva chocolates (sea salted caramels)plus bin selections - more candy, nuts , fragrant coffee bean selection & dont get me started on the baked goods! I see a curly haired friendly guy regularly; he knows Im picking up my fave almond pillow cookies. Just one request, savvy number crunchers setting prices-PLEASE, please, pretty please w/powder sugar on top...respect the WORLD WIDE ORDER of BAKERS & box ONE (1) dozen instead of ten (10) -for the same price. I believe its feasible & your customers will recognize the action & discover you care. Thankyou, kindly, Su McKenzie...~.~...

A good mix overall. More candy than organic produce. Best meat and seafood selection in Southwest Virginia, which aint sayn much, but ya know. The staff working the deli area are total snots and too busy chatting to give you a goddamned roasted chicken. The manager of the store needs to have staff preparing the food and other staff that only assists customers. This will keep me and many others from being pissed off. If youre careful, youll get out of the store without spending $100 bucks.

Organic kale in Kroger costs $1.49 a pound whereas in the Fresh Market costs $2.99 a bunch and it is not even a pound. Seriously why do people shop there when they try to show off as upscale. Go to their meat section and ask the butcher if the meat is grass fed....NO, CORN FED. Ask if the chickens are pasture raised.... NO. Try Kroger and even Walmart for organic produce and meat and not to give your paycheck to these people

Lovely Southern Life

I love the variety and quality of products found at TFM. Its got an upscale feel and its always a treat to find a new brand or item to try. I love the coffee samples and found an amazing creamer (Hood Coffee Creamer) that Ive never seen anywhere else. Theyve got great candy, produce, baked goods, and more. Its typically a lazy Sunday afternoon outing for us.

This store is awesome but the prices are not. It is way too expensive so I would recommend hitting it up for the produce and meats. I would leave it for a Trader Joes any day. That being said, I always have had a pleasant experience in the store, its always extremely clean, and its the only one in Roanoke with that level of quality.

Cant find what you are looking for? Just ask!! They will find a manager who will go out of their way to help you. If they cant find it, then they will ask another manager. Best place to shop for those extra special items. And you cant beat the $20 Meal deals. You get over $30+ of food items! Enough to feed 2 people at least 2 meals.

Great atmosphere and very clean grocery store. Travel to this location from Christiansburg on occasion. Some items are more expensive than other grocery stores, but you can frequently find well priced items. Large coffee selection and many specialty products available. As close as the region has to a Trader Joes.

Its always wonderful to be here and you have variety of different choices of fresh fruits and great dairy products and meat. Cashiers and shopkeepers are very nice to customer.specially "Emilee". She is very nice person with a big smile always in her face and always welcoming and helpful to customers.

This is my favorite grocery store. Its so nice, my husband and I like to have "shopping dates" there. We go to every section, talk about our likes and dislikes of the selections and kiss each other. Prices are high for this is a premium grocery. The only place I purchase beef!

Always a good choice for quality meats and produce. Big variety of products, clean space, and knowledgeable staff. A bit pricey compared to other grocery chains, so I usually go here when what I need is on sale. A great choice for sushi on the go.....delicious!

I occasionally shop at Fresh Market. They have some good deals and some are cheaper than Food Lion/ Krogers. Though I have noticed they try to upscale as as mentioned by another reviewer RK. Not on all items though.

Great place, very upscale, wide selection with much different atmosphere than most grocery stores. Especially liked the amount of organic items, and the peanut butter maker.
