Cinnamon Bear is the absolute worst place to go to if you A) want your moneys worth, B) want it in a timely manner, C) dont want a raving lunatic in charge of the whole operation and D) actually want your food to be homemade. The brownies are a ghiradelli box mix, the cheesecake and reeses pie are from costco along with the "homemade" chocolate chip cookies (baked by the wonderful costco bakery) and the mixes for other cookies. The homemade hot chocolate is nestle or swiss miss mixed with 2:1 sugar. When drinks are made with milk, regardless of what you ask for (skim or whole) the owner encourages employees to "not waste " milk and just use what is in the steam cup. Be cautious and request a receipt because countless times, the owner has charged someone a Large drink price of a regular fountain drink. And speaking of size, the owner has stated several times that she cant hire anyone who "doesnt fit behind the counter" and "ugly doesnt sell" so think long and hard before putting in an application, you might not make the cut. Additionally, employees do not get reimursed for the gas money it takes to deliver the food. The toasters are for domestic use only and are old and disgusting inside, not made for restaurant frequency use. All of the dressings used are past expiration and used anyways. The bagel chips made for the salad are made from stale and old bagels (from mr. js which is a much better deli if you like quality food) that no one purchased. Prices are frequently changed and upped, regardless of customer loyalty SO ASK HOW MUCH THINGS COST. She does not notify customers that she has upped the price. Additionally, all of the small sized coffee drinks were removed from the menu to force people to spend more. As an employer, the owner is wretched, disrespectful, pompous and unreasonable. Do. Not. Go.

I went to this place a few days ago and cannot say I couldve been more disappointed. If I could give it zero stars I would. The location looks gaudy with grainy photos of what im guessing is the owners family on the walls and cheap plastic decorative flowers/plants from the dollar store. I ordered a betty boop with turkey which set me back almost $7 which is more than Id pay at panera and my boyfriend ordered the reuben, for which we waited for at least 15 minutes when it wasnt even crowded.. My sandwich came out burnt on the top, the turkey was incredibly salty and watery and the bacon was some prepackaged fake thing which had no flavor and tasted like charcoal and the whole thing was drowning in mayonnaise. My boyfriends reuben was beyond inedible. He said the corned beef tasted nothing like beef ( which means they probably use cheap flavored turkey substitute and serve it as corned beef- which if that isnt deceiving customers just to make a buck i dont know what is) and he said the sauerkraut on the sandwich tasted rotten and old. I had a bite of it and had to agree something was very wrong with it. After a bite each neither of us could eat the sandwich so we asked for a refund and some manager told us that we couldnt get a refund because wed already eaten more than half. Wed also got a sugar cookie to take home and it was almost raw dough which was only stiff because it mustve been sitting in a freezer for a week and was covered in flour. So yeah, if you want terrible customer service, sandwiches made from god knows what and rotten ingredients and half raw cookies that taste like flour then by all means go to cinnamon bear!

I am not normally one to write reviews but I experienced Cinnamon Bear Bakery & Deli for the first time today. I am a college student who was looking for a chill atmosphere, some coffee, and some comfort food and decided to google Cinnamon Bear before heading this way. I saw that previous reviews were mixed and the common theme was that the food took forever. I arrived at the bakery (it’s a very rainy day) and so the bakery was full of customers so I came in with the expectation of having to wait awhile for my food. I ordered, sat down, started up my laptop and within 5 minutes my whole sandwich, coffee, and cup of soup arrived! I was very pleased with the service, cleanliness, and smiles of the employees that were working. Not to mention an employee helped a customer carry boxes of pastries to her car in the torrential down pour. Come to Cinnamon Bear if you’re looking for a local, friendly, and relaxed environment!

Cinnamon Bear is my favorite place to eat in Harrisonburg! They have fresh and delicious food! The menu options are wonderful; so many things to choose from, whether it be breakfast, lunch, desserts or tasty beverages. I am trying to work my way through the menu, but I keep going back to the same thing. Number 1 with lobster bisque (and occasionally I treat myself to one of their delicious brownies!). The owner there is fantastic! He always goes out of his way to make sure our food is delivered to us and that we have everything we need. Although I spend way too much money here (only because I choose this for my lunch multiple times a week) I love this place!

The owners care so much about every person! One time I went in close to closing time and asked them if they had any more sugar cookies. They didnt scoff or make angry faces or even think about making me ask! They said "give us a few, we will whip em right up!" Wow!! Since when does service like this exist anymore. Hands down my favorite place to eat!!! They have also delivered to my establishment on multiple occasions, watch out panera bread. My favorite meal is the spicy Basil chicken wrap!!! They know how to make a healthy wrap!!!

I have no idea where these other people ate because it is obviously not the Cinnamon Bear right next to JMU. I went there and the service was horrible - took 20 + minutes to make one sandwhich, and it came out COMPLETELY burnt. On top of that, I got a dessert and it was horrible. Upon talking to some of my fellow classmates at JMU I found out they dont even make any of their goods by scratch. They make you pay 4$ for a brownie made out of brownie MIX. What a rip off!

Cinnamon Bear is the only place I trust for great quality food. As a Chef, I know good quality products. Kate, "owner with husband, " only bring in the best! The staff is Always Friendly! When Cinnamon Bear was closed last week, a friend took me to another Deli. I was truly disappointed! The worst processed meats, aged greens, and sloppy service! Thank goodness your back?

Im originally from NOVA and I came down to visit a friend in Harrisonburg and had lunch at Cinnamon Bear. AMAZING food, the atmosphere is so warm and cozy, and the staff was very friendly. Now every time that I come back to visit, I make sure to come and have lunch and breakfast (They have the best breakfast wraps too!) at least once :)

A peaceful coffee shop with a large menu of excellent specialty food items (breakfast, sandwiches, salads etc) and great coffee. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, tasteful music playing low. I suggest getting here early in the day if you want a bagel; they are rightfully in high demand.
