Awful service, ruined the whole experience. It is a shame to leave such a negative review for a place, when the food was so good. However, the server was so awful - it was absurd and it soured the whole experience. According the our receipt the servers name was Joshua H. I was there on Thursday 7/27/2017 at about 6:15 pm with my father. We were seated at a table outside, sat there for about 10-15 mins with nothing but empty glasses in front of us. The server then finally comes over, making it clear he is in no hurry, and says can I get you something? Uh, yeh. I ordered a water, my father a beer. No acknowledgment or apology from the server for the wait, but instead, he seems to get an attitude with us when we tell him were actually ready to put our food order in too. He takes the order walks back inside. We dont see him again for another 10 mins or so. He then eventually walks out with a beer in his hand, initially towards our table. Makes eye contact with me and then does one of those quick turns like a cat does as if to say "neow, its not yours you cant have any...now clean my litter box" as he sticks his butt up in the air. Never stops back to say your drinks will be out shortly or anything. We wait and wait. Two other servers must have noticed that wed been neglected for quite some time because they stopped by and asked, "have you guys been helped?" We explain the situation that wed ordered and were still waiting for drinks. They offer to look into it. The third time one of the other servers asked again if we were still waiting, and then actually got the beer. We get the food (a different server delivers it) and its great! Once weve finished our meals cat boy comes back and asks how everything was. We ask for check and give him our credit card. At this point we had an uber coming that was 12 mins away... Should be plenty of time for catnip to prance back inside, play with a little mouse, and cash us out, right? Nope. The dude goes back in friggin disappears again. Once the Uber was pulling up I had to go back inside to tell him we needed our card back since our ride was here. No apology from him just, "oh, you have a cab here?" Crazy. The dude seemed like he had never worked a day in his life.

Unfortunately changing my review from five stars to two. What was once a great place to get some work done in the morning with great coffee and food has become an awkward & uncomfortable experience. I was barked at for ordering at the counter then sitting down at a table ("Were a sit-down restaurant in the morning now"), so I assumed I should order through a waiter next time. This morning I was greeted with a demanding "are you going to order anything" after being sat, to which we responded "yes" - and then we were promptly ignored. Ended up ordering at the counter after waiting. The coffee here is the best in the area. The food exceeds my expectations every time! The counter staff are usually pretty great too. Ill keep coming for the food & the coffee, but would love to have less predatory waitstaff.

This is the BEST place in the UV! Reasonably priced, delicious everything. Its a café in the morning and by 9am it turns into sit down service for breakfast/lunch. When they reopen at 5 for dinner, its like a completely different place. They have a full liquor bar, GREAT coffee, very tasty home made pastries. The staff is always smiling and laughing, its just a great atmosphere all around. BUT I would recommend making reservations, especially on the weekends, even for lunch. The food is TOTALLY worth the wait tho..

Best coffee around, I cant stand Dunkin Donuts after going to the Tucker box! Also, the Peanut butter and bacon sandwich is fit for a king. The bacon is thick, sometimes chewy sometimes crispy (its a pleasant surprise either way) The Peanut butter is creamy and lathered in thick proportions. The grilled Texas Toast just completes this wonderful Sandwich. For something more traditional, I would say the chicken salad sandwich is phenomenal.

One of my favorite restaurants in the Upper Valley. I first came here for lunch on a very snowy day this winter and was blown away by the experience. I got the döner kebab sandwich and I cant stop thinking about it... the bread wasnt just superb, it was transcendental. I really cant recommend this place enough. Truly astonishing food. Oh, and get the almond pudding, its the best in the city.

We drive alot for my husbands work and the Tuckerbox is the one place I CANT WAIT TO GO TO! He loves it too! The food is the best there is and theres food for the pickiest of eaters. Makes me food happy! I had the Surf N Turf, and the almond custard with Turkish tea....it was heavenly! You have to get in here and try it all bc it will make your mouth happy! We love this place!

Great staff and service. Kitchen was very accommodating of any dietary restrictions. Food was very fresh and good. Currently they dont have a full liquor license and bar, but they are expanding and renovating their existing location in the next couple weeks and will be adding a full service bar.

When I moved to nyc for school, the place in the upper valley I missed most was the Tuckerbox. The atmosphere is perfect, the food is always good (especially the soup), and they have far and away the best coffee in the upper valley. I go out of my way to stop here every time I come home.

Happened upon this treasure while vacationing. Authentic food, deliciously prepared, with plenty of vegan options. Stuffed grape leaves are super tasty, Turkish coffee is delightful, sampler appetizer platter was perfect along with lovingly-prepared and served entrées.

I did not enjoy the food especially at the price point. My "traditional" Turkish coffee was made from coffee in a canister and on a machine not in an ibrik and it was served with misgendering on the side. Pretty negative experience on the whole.

The employees are either mentally touched or just horribly unable to perform basic customer service skills in a timely manner. Coffee is average at best and the food is mediocre. They stay in business solely because there is no competition.

Nice atmosphere, good food and casual setting. They have a good selection of vegan food as well and a nice "Turkish" menu to satisfy most tastes. Prices are also reasonable and they have free wifi.

Great food, the lavish bread is so good. Tried the Turkish coffee and the almonds pudding - both were really good. The kids enjoyed it as well so we recommend this place. Great place indeed.

What an excellent little Turkish cafe in the upper valley!! So much fun. Good Turkish coffee, tasty red lentil soup and a fun sign that teaches you Turkish. :) All the food looks great.

Absolutely one of the best dining experiences weve had! From the martinis to the appetizers, and the main course to the turkish coffee, a wonderful meal. Cant wait to go again!
