When I first excitedly came to this store a year or so back my nose was immediately assaulted by the horrific smell. I turned right around and walked out! Since moving to West Jordan I havent had a chance to come back, but I stopped by this week and was pleasantly surprised. The smell is mostly gone but still slightly present (as is expected). What I was most impressed by was the staff! One of the workers actually went out of his way to ask me if I was finding everything OK. Another staff member helped me look for an item when I asked him. Shopping at the Super China/Ocean Mart place on 9000S has made me expect to feel invisible and like Im irritating the workers by simply being in the store (as a clueless white person) but Southeast Supermarket was such a refreshing change. Its fairly small, but what I noticed was it packs quite a punch of diverse stock on its limited shelves. I found some things I couldnt find at the 90th South store, and some of the same things were there (Mochi ice cream, etc.) Highly recommend visiting for the experience and actually being treated nicely!

We are really lucky to have several top flight Asian stores. It really opens up the ability to cook more authentic versions of recopies wed never be able to do if the regular grocery store was the only option. Even in those cases where I could get those ingredients at the grocery store, they are just a lot less money here. I was here to get Kombu and Bonito flakes to make dashi broth. Its a great thing to have around the house. Bonito in full pound bags. Excellent. In looking around, a number of items are frozen that I can get refrigerated in other places. Especially noodles. I can completely understand this. It keeps it from the fifth star. I like the location, Its right along my normal run to Liberty Fresh and Beltex meats. This makes it a trifecta.

I love Asian food as much as I love K-POP music. Which is to say, a lot. I love the adventure of buying food in packages that I cant read or understand—I never know what Im going to get. I especially like trying unknown noodles bowls. There is one brand of noodle bowls that I dont know what they are called, but I know them by their color. Burgandy (okay), Gold (delicious), Silver (not that good), Orange (not great, not bad). And there are these noodles named MaMa with a flavor called "waterfall"... delicious! This place has a wide variety of foods at very reasonable prices. The employees are helpful and nice. They always give me great advice. I highly recommend shopping here.

The most honest Asian grocery store you can find in Utah. I live in Salt Lake for 35 years, and shopped most of them, approx 10 places, and got cheated by all except for this one. The owner of this store is a humble guy, and is very nice and kind. He does not give you a hard time on exchange or return unlike New Taydo, Kim Hung, Kim Long, and etc. Some stores will cheat you on the weight, some of them of the price, some stores will charge you twice, some will give you the wrong change in their benefit, and will fight when you challenge them.

A good selection of Asian food products you wont find anywhere else in that part of town, good prices (I never buy coconut milk ANYWHERE else) and unbelievable service. Employees offer help to anyone looking even slightly confused or frustrated and drop everything to help you with what you need. We told them we were hosting a roll-your-own sushi night and they took us all over the store: "here, this rice; here, this nori; here, this vinegar", etc. It was amazing.

Great selection of Asian groceries and products. Looking for a key ingredient for that Vietnamese, Filipino, Japanese or Cambodian dish? Chances are, you can find it here. The staff are always friendly and courteous. If you cant find what youre looking for, theyre happy to help, and might just order it for you so that its on the shelf the next time you come. One of only a few places in the valley where you can consistently find Lucky Me Pancit Canton.

I love this place! Their vegetables are consistently cheaper than the grocery store (Green onions 3/1$ and such) and their selection of asian veggies is awesome. They are helpful, will special order in items you may want if they dont have it. I cook Japanese, Thai and Indian food and they have the bases covered for all three. If you buy a lot of something you can often ask for a case price and get a discount. I cant say enough good things about them!

This market is pretty good for the area. They have a selection of produce and some fresh items as well as frozen meats and seafood and a good assortment of canned and dried goods, as well as cooking utensils and other things youll need to cook Asian food. I moved here from CA where I had access to a lot of Asian markets, and one thing I noticed is they dont carry the rice brands that Im used to eating, but they seem to have most everything else.

This has become my "go to" Asian market. Ive found the staff to be very approachable and helpful. I can often go in, tell them what Im making, and if we cant find the exact ingredient theyve always been very good about recommending substitutions. Also love the meat department here. The thin sliced beef and pork is great for bulgogi and a lot of other dishes. On the weekends they have roast pork which is very tasty as well!

This is the best Asian Market. I really wanted to highlight the people who work there. I have asked for and received help every time I have inquired. They have taken the time to explain different foods and spellings and recommend products that might be better. Most important to me is the friendliness and willingness to help.

I have been shopping only at Southeast Market since I found this store about 8 years ago for all the Asian condiments, spices, teas, rices, etc., that I use. Great prices, (best in SLC) and a huge variety of items and ingredients for any Asian recipe you come across. Excellent value for stocking up! Employees are great too!

I wander in there whenever I want to make Hmong food or some other kind of asian food. They always have the hard to find items i cant get at any regular store. As for the cafe next door, I havent tried it. They prices are vegetables are SUPER SUPER good. A little hard to find things though with the store layout

I go there to buy Chinese grocery that is not available in regular grocery stores. Service is friendly. The produce is generally fresh. While they do not have everything, I can find most. They do not use bar code to register the price. It is worthwhile to pay attention to the price they charge.

Great store. Very diverse selection spanning across Asian cuisines, friendly and helpful staff, unique fresh vegetables and greens. Not all prices are super cheap, but its all very reasonable and there are many bargains to be found. Stores like this make shopping both fun and satisfying.
