I like the fact that they have so many things that you cant find anywhere else in the Sugar Land area. People in these reviews have complained about this company not being as environmentally friendly as they so often purport. This company, gave a whole, whole, bunch of money to GOP election efforts 3 or 4 years ago when the horribly unjust and undemocratic "Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission" ruling made corporations out to be actual living people. They did not think that so, so, many of their customers would find out about their political campaign donations. This particular whole foods certainly has a higher percentage of GOP affiliated customers than most, but by and large, this companys base is much "greener", and much more liberal. There was a significant backlash for this, causing them to mitigate their donations in some form or fashion, the specifics of which I am not clear enough on to write about at this time. How can any entity, that purports to be pro-earth, and "Green", have these self assertions taken as anything more than a contravention of their true feelings on the matter, when they gave so much money to the election efforts of a political party whose recently "elected (currently disputed)", president, has decided to pull this country out of the Paris Accords? Their message, and true ideology are at odds, indeed. And every unnecessary sign that informs you of the environmentally conservative image they would like to convey, is itself wasteful, even if you disregard the duplicitous statements contained therein. I mean anybody who tries so hard to convince you of things that are commonly preconceived notions already, is either lying, or trying to convince themselves, or both.

Love the store and they offer the best of meats, however their meat department employees constantly say they dont have something because they dont want to cut it into a roast. We asked for multiple pounds of rib eye roast and sirloin roasts that they have and I have bought before from them, however, on this particular night I got my pounds in steak slices rather than roasts because nobody wanted to cut either. I spend nearly $1000 a week in whole foods because it is the best grocery store near me and I was so angry on New Years Eve night when all the guys behind the counter were talking about how they were getting out at 9:30 that evening and seemed to be more concerned with cleaning up to get out right at 9:30 than to cut us a rather expensive piece of meat. I guess they are doing well enough in the area of sugar land they are in that they can turn away an order of about $150 worth of meats that night. Also, had a rather awkward grocery store encounter on another night with an employee off duty walking around with a draught beer in his hand high fiving and gossiping with the other employees also in this meat department. Every time I go to the counter at the meat department at this store I feel uncomfortable!!! We get a lot of yes maam and yes sir ALL THE TIME, but it doesnt help the uneasiness felt every time we go to that counter.

Whole Foods lines are often times Walmart long, plenty of prepackaged stuff sold at Walmart and Target for much less. Buffet is dirty with people dropping utensils in the food all the time. Got scammed in the parking lot, guy in a new spotless white Toyota Venza claimed to work at a body shop and wanted extra money for his sons birthday party on his day off. Offered to fix a couple dents on the rear pillar for $150, told him I cant pay that and he offered to do it for $100 but I thought he meant he wanted to go to his body shop and fix it there, rather he immediately goes to work in the parking lot. Covers the dent with rubbing compound and claims it will protect the paint after being "brazed". Go home rinse my car off and the dent is still there, fortunately I was short of cash and only gave him $30, his tactics were fast, pushy and demanding. Id recommend going to the Whole Foods in Cinco Ranch they have security in the lot and arent packed full of dishonest folks coming from who knows where.

Today (3/18/2013,17:26) the cashier (12699917:26:24) did not see one of the items that put to pay in the Exppress line 16, so I did not realize of that I just were to put the Tomss sandals in the bag and she said that she did not scan that because she even saw them, I answered her, really it good to know that before exit to the store... she implied that I tried to robe them, but the English is not my first language so I think more slowly on it. Then scan them I said, they even had the correct price, I told her about that she even believed me and she went to check that in fact there was just one price and it was the wrong one. She even apologized for that, I refused to buy them by the humiliating service. I do not know what she thinks she is but she have to learn to respect the people. I invite you to report these incidents the cashier number is in the back of your ticket.

I have done a lot of price comparisons within the last month and with the exception of a few things WF consistently comes out as the most expensive for items that are also sold elsewhere. The company as a whole claims to only sell all natural products, but there are so many "all natural" things that are bad for you, and Im still having to read labels super carefully even here. Customer service here is usually okay, but I have encountered some bad apples, so along with the higher expense, it has soured me on coming more regularly. They also need to get their digital coupons working, because it continues to not automatically give the discount for qualifying items.

Expect the Packers to place raw meat on top of vegetables, cheese, bread, etc. and look at you like you have two heads when you ask them not to do that. Today I asked them to pack it separately (i.e., like a lay it out of the belt), so the cashier dropped all the meat on top of the vegetables and salad items (umm are you serious??). Clearly they dont teach anybody about cross contamination at this store. Unfortunately we have this experience about every second time we go. Why go back you say? Its the only whole foods remotely close to our house. Disappointed. We have lived all over the US and usually have great WF experiences.
