The people were nice, the store is clean and organized for the volume of merchandise and limited space they had, however, their promotion was not honored. There was a paper sign on the racks that sat outside the store indicating a 50% off of the lowest marked price. I picked out a skirt and tried it on debating if I was going to purchase it. As I was still undecided, I asked Marilyn for her opinion. Following her opinion, she mentioned that if the skirt came from the outside rack, it would be 50% off the lowest price, which I had not known because I had not read the sign. Because of that, I decided to purchase it. At check out, it turns out that it was NOT from the lowest marked price because they made a mistake. I asked her to honor it since it was their mistake but she would not. I went ahead and purchased it. After I left, I found myself very disappointed because of the principle itself where any other store would have honored the incorrect price if they made a mistake. I called and spoke to Marilyn again after finding out she was the manager and explained what happened. She just told me to bring it back and she will take it back. I was disappointed how this was being handled so I told her that I rather not come back and ended the conversation. It is really sad because I liked the store but it makes me wonder how many times this has happened or if this is just the way they take the customers money.

I stopped by Garment Exchange a few weeks ago for the first time after hearing about it for months (shame on me for not coming sooner!). The store has plenty to choose from and is well organized so you can go straight to the section with your sizes (big plus when consignment shopping!). I ended up snagging three “finds"---all at extremely reasonable prices! I’ll definitely be back to see what other steals I can snag and add to my wardrobe. I also thoroughly enjoyed chatting with Marilyn, the store’s friendly owner. You can tell shes passionate about supporting local businesses (she openly promotes other local business in the shopping center like The Great Taste Café), recycling through consignment (the basis of her store!), and most importantly, she’s passionate about building great customer relationships! If you’re a coffee fiend like I am, spend some time browsing through the current selection at Garment Exchange and when you’re finished, head over to The Great Taste Café, on the other side of the shopping center, for a yummy mocha or delicious crepe! These two places make this shopping center a great place to visit!

Ive visited The Garment Exchange consignment shop here in San Antonio numerous times and have always been pleased with their great selection, quality clothing, professional staff, and low prices. Every time I go in its like a brand new second hand store. It reminds me of Platos closet, but I can actually find stuff that is worth buying here! Thanks for keeping your store so great, Marilyn!
