Chip Lyons

The Gruene General Store is a step back in time, except for all the new merchandise. The ice cream, and candy bar are very nostalgic, and GOOD. Walking on the old wood floors under the tall ceiling is certainly historic. The store is filled with fun toys and gadgets, t shirts, and nearly anything that says TEXAS. It is a MUST stop when in Gruene, there is a bench under the side overhang for us old folks to sit while the kids enjoy their ice cream and candy.

Nice little general store. Bringing a little taste of the past in a modern society. In this store you can choose to purchase nostalgic products to sitting down and enjoying ice cream from an old fashion ice cream bar. They also have a plethora of salsas and jam you could taste before purchasing. Its a go to place to visit while visiting Gruene for the day.

This place is amazing, but is totally outstanding around the holidays! You can find every gift imaginable, for every age, all wrapped up in a prideful Texas bow! Make sure to visit before eating anywhere, as they have lots of yummy samples.

Very nice place to look for something oldfashioned. And everybody can taste sauces, peanut butter and honey with original and weird flavors. Just go around The store and enjoy your visit.

Cool little store, always packed. Try some different sweet butters and jams, site down and drink a float, some ice cream or fudge. Pick up a few small gifts.
