Cashier had a problem with the customer in front of me. Unable to solve his problem, the young lady called DOUG to the front.... I assume hes the manager? He also, was unable to solve the problem. This all took about 5 minutes. The customer was extremely irritated and left without his purchase. The cashier asked me for my # and if I received coupons? I said yes and gave her my #! She scans my items gives me the total- $32.95. I pay cash for the purchase, she gives me my receipt and I leave. I get to my pickup and realize I didnt get my free item for my minimum purchase of 4.99? So, I go back in to get my set of screwdrivers. Meanwhile, back in the store, the irritated customer has since returned as well! DOUG is again, unsuccessfully assisting someone else! Now the line of people is at least 10 deep at the register!!! I said the heck with screwdrivers and left... Irritated!!!! So, in short, DOUG handled himself very poorly!! Not manager material!!!

I have never had a bad trip to Harbor Freight. I dont know about all this bad management but their stuff is cheap to begin with why complain about a discount? And anyone who knows anything about anything knows that their tools are super cheap-o and wont last forever, BUT they are, painfully obviously, priced accordingly. So basically if you need a tool really quick, maybe to use just a few times, this is the place to be. I have some items from there that are lasting forever. Its just not drop forged and professional like Craftsman or the other higher-end brands. If you have common knowledge and common sense, this store is an absolute haven. I personally love it. And the staff has always been very helpful and courteous to me and Im not even a regular there! Over-all, I give it an A. .

The only bad visit that Ive ever had here was today, only because I arrived one minute before close for that one thing I needed for a project, and the doors were locked. Im writing this in their parking lot, so be warned: When they say they close at 8 (or 6 on Sundays) they mean it. Show up extra early if you are like me and come for one thing and end up with either several, or a longer to-get list for the future. The people that work there have always been nice and as helpful as possible. If you like making and fixing things yourself, the tools here are one way of helping it cost less than hiring it done. I find myself looking around and sometimes thinking "Wow - I didnt even know they had a tool for that."

Received a battery charger as a gift, obviously defective out of the box, wouldnt charge. Manager would not straight swap for the same item, said I was lying since I didnt have a receipt. First time Ive been called a liar by a store manager. Never again.

Good hand tools with a replace for life warrantee. Power tools are ok for dyi home owners, but pros need to go somewhere else. Lots of hardware to choose from. Watch out for cheap Chinese steel, it doesnt hold up to hard use.

james grant is employed here and told me that the tools come from a brand named chicago and that the tools are cheap and rarely even work!!!!
