This is a very nice store with a great selection of quality products. However, what is not a quality the store maintains is good customer service from the stores very OWNER. I went into the store yesterday and was in the market to purchase a new pair of running shoes. This my first time spending a good amount of money (+$100) on running shoes as I am running a marathon in a few months and had a good number of questions. However, when the OWNER who was helping me realized that this was not an automatic sale and that I was in the market, not walking in and buying the first thing he threw at me, he gave me alot of attitude saying quietly to himself that he was "right in the middle of something on his computer" while heading to the back room to retrieve my shoes. After further acts of passive aggression and impatience, I put on my old shoes and told him I was leaving. Upon asking him why he was so rude, he told me that I was wasting his time, that his time is very valuable and that I, (mind you, I was the only one in the store) was wasting his time asking so many questions without a promise that I was ready to buy right then and there. The whole experience lasted no more than 5 minutes. I went there on a recommendation that it was the best and unfortunately what seems like an awesome store left me with a terrible impression of a rude and pompous store owner. I hope other people have better experiences. Maybe pay for your shoes prior to trying them on and then he will give you decent service.

I normally dont write reviews but I had the worst customer service experience with the owner here today. I bought a pair of Asics 2 weeks ago and after a few runs on normal surfaces (memorial park loop and concrete) the sole began to come off at a corner. I went in to get advice on how to handle the warranty process (with the retailer or Asics). I politely explain what happened, he looks at the shoe, and then tells me he couldnt personally do anything about it. I then ask how I can handle it with Asics. At this point he throws the shoe down and starts yelling at me to get out of the store and approaching me to shoo me off. I dont know what he was going through but that should not happen period (especially when I said it was the manufacturers fault). Another note is that I consciously paid $30 more than Amazon was selling them for because he helped fit me at the time of purchase 2 weeks before. As much as I would like to support local brick and mortars, I would tell my friends to stay away from this place unless they want to get yelled at and overpay.

I just moved to Houston and looking for a local running store. I always seem to get better service at local running stores rather than the mall type stores. I was looking for a store close to the Heights and located Finish Strong. I am getting back to running after taking a few years off. I pretty much had an idea what I needed as I have been fit by a running store before. I was amazed at how much had changed and grateful that the sales person knew about the shoes. That helped me narrow down my purchase. Plus I felt they really listened to what I needed. Asked me questions about MY training needs rather than try to sell me a shoe that was the latest trend. Great customer service! I didnt feel intimidated at all by their advice. Grateful for the advice on shoes. They are my go to store for running shoes, supplies and advice.

I got into distance racing over 4 years ago and have shopped at a number of different stores (in the D.C. area) for running shoes. I decided to get my current pair of shoes here due to a very glowing recommendation. I thought that blisters and bruised toenails were just something that could be mitigated but not prevented. The pair of shoes that I bought here changed my mind. I went on a 3.5 hour run last week, and my feet are doing fantastic. The owner is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I dont live in Houston, but I plan on being a repeat customer whenever I am in town visiting relatives.

I had initially ordered a pair of Nimbus 13 LE online, it would seem the Nimbus 13 is considerably more narrow than the 12, and I needed a running shoe immediately. I went to see them and ended up in a Nike Vomero and very satisfied with the store owners knowledge and friendly attitude. After all was said and done, I had forgotten my Debit card at the store. Knowing I was going straight to Memorial Park to run, the owner drove around the park until he found me and returned the card to me, Ill definitely be taking my business to them in the future.

Finish Strong Sports listened to me about my bigger right foot and my generally wide feet. RunTex did this for me in Austin, but they would always suggest the most expensive shoes. The salesman (maybe owner) listened to what I needed and recommended $120 shoes, which was on the low end. I could tell these shoes felt better than the $180 shoes we tried as well. He agreed. Trust is important. I like this place.

I am a pretty serious runner (sub 3 hour marathons). And I strongly recommend going to see Raymond at Finish Strong. It is so important to have your foot/running style matched to a proper running shoe. Raymond will definitely provide you with a good match! They carry high end equipment that can get pricey, but I recently discovered a very good sale they were having. Overall it is a great store!

I went to this store on a recommendation of a friend. Ive been running and shopping in running stores all over the world for 15 years ( Oil Co. brat) and Ive never experienced the quality of service that I received from Coop at this store. His knowledge and recommendations were outstanding. I see why my friends swear by this place. Ill definitely be sending all my network of people this way.

First off, dont waste your time going in here, much cheaper and better service buying online. Yes i did say better service online!!! The owner is a JOKE, hes rude and dishonest. Cant believe his shop is still in business!!! Go to another running shop if u need to be fitted!!! Lukes Looker, Whole Earth or Sports Authority. Much better service at these other places. DONT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!

This is not the typical sporting goods store where you just walk in, try on a pair of shoes, and walk out. My walk was analyzed and the proper shoe selected that actually feels good on my feet that was professionally fitted. I highly recommend this store. I learned something about the shoes I never knew and I appreciate it. I will come back.

My fiance and I went here so get her some new running shoes. We found that this store focuses on what is trending now (more supporting shoes). So while she did not get what she was really looking for (racing flats), the great people at this location were able to provide a good, attractive alternative that met her running goals.
