I love supporting local businesses, however this establishment will get no more of my patronage. Each time I have been in this store I have been treated unkindly, especially if my children are with me looking at the fish, like we arent going to buy anything. I am astonished that owners of a business in a great community such as this one would treat customers, ultimately their neighbors, with such unkindness and disregard both at their place of business and outside of it. Yes, everyone in this town talks and I am not the only one to share this experience. When asked where to get pet supplies I now refer people to the big chain stores in town. At least the teenagers who work there are polite and helpful.

This store honestly does not even deserve 1 star! The owners are the rudest people I have ever met! They DO NOT LIKE CHILDREN! I have a 3 year old who loves to look at the fish. We buy our dog and cat food there. The owners are never friendly and always stare at my daughter because she is giggly. She minds me very well though. I DO NOT recommend this pet store to anyone with children! The owners should have picked a business where they didnt have to deal with people in the public. The owner told me she was a retired teacher. Sure glad I wasnt in her classroom! Guess I will be going to TRACTOR SUPPLY COMPANY. At Tractor Supply they are actually pretty friendly there and LIKE CHILDREN!

I go to B.D.C.F. at least a couple times per week. We have cats, dogs, saltwater and freshwater fish to take care of so its nice to be able to go into a "hometown" store that has everything we need. We are always greeted with a smile and "how are you doing". They have a wide selection of products and at a reasonable price especially compared to the San Antonio stores. The couple of times I have needed something that they didnt stock, they were happy to find if for me and order it in. As far as livestock goes (fish in my case), I have had good luck. Everything seems to be healthy and in good condition both in the store and when I get them home.

Local and convenient for all my supplies, I have enjoyed coming here for over two years now. I have bought nearly everything for my planted fresh water tank from here as well as other supplies for my four legged pets (2 dogs and a cat). When it is time to do water changes, this is my first stop as they sell fresh (and salt) RO water. Whenever I am looking for a specialty plants or fish they have been more than accommodating and the prices are not outrageous. Its also nice to go somewhere where you are recognized and have rapport with the owners.

Two owners, not the friendliest. Prices are steep. Location good. As a retail business owner myself for over a decade, customer service should be number one. Greeting folks when they can me in, remembering them when they are repeat regular customers for over a year would be nice. Im not a fan of this place. Plus they are Democrats and make it known to customers with off color remarks about others. Keep politics off the customer floor. You will offend... Same for any religious beliefs, big business no, no.

I bought all my saltwater needs here, but no more. I bought a coral beauty on Christmas eve, took it home and drip acclimated it like you should only to wake up to it dead the next day. Drove 25 miles to see what they could do because they couldnt give me an answer over the phone, only to b3 told there werent any guarantees on saltwater but they woul sell me another for half price. Wow.....I have been coming here for over 2 years and did mind the over pricing because I liked the place. Not anymore....bummer.

I wish we could shop here. We tried and tried because its convenient, but the owners are extremely rude and unpleasant. I am not sure how they are even open still. Id rather make the drive into town than buy anything from these people. Worst customer service and no social skills whatsoever. I wish someone else would buy the business so we could go there.

These guys are quite accommodating. My pack and I (5 dogs and a cat) are gluten-free and are quite picky! These guys at Birddog Catfish not only help me with my special needs selection, they also tell me about coupons for these more expensive foods! And they load my huge 50lb bag everytime! I recommend no one else!

I have been shopping here for several years, the owners, Trish and Mike are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Their prices are competitive, and the store is always immaculate. There is also a buying club for Orijen dog food. I highly recommend for any discerning pet owner.

Love this store. Nicely stocked with quality products and supplies. This is a family run business where I get our holistic dog food and treats. I highly recommend this store if you want nutritious food for your dog or cat. Nice people who still practice customer service.

Great people, great store, Always helpful. All animals and their fish are in great condition and shape. They do support local rescue too. Been going here almost 3 yrs now. I think some of the negative reviews are bogus, They are always friendly to everyone.

The have an OK small selection of saltwater corals and fish. Everyone and a while you can find a hidden gem here. My father in law buys his dog food here.
