Went in the other day to look for a medium to high end O/U shotgun. Stopped off at the ammo rack first to take a look and heard the employees behind the gun counter start to "knock" people from Canada. They did this after they saw the Toronto Blue Jays shirt I had on. After going on for a few minutes they said "Sir, are you from Canada?" I replied "No, Im not, I got this shirt as a gift from my wife. I am from Detroit. So, just dont say anything bad about Detroit" Right away the smart-ass behind the counter replies "I dont have to, Detroit speaks for itself" I left the store and will never go back. Had that not been a gun shop I would have ripped that little punk over the counter and schooled him on some "Detroit style customer hospitality" You, Sportsmans "Finest", have no place to insult your customers. I would strongly encourage others to find another place to shop. By the way, I emailed the store thinking I would get a call or reply back. Nothing.

I went in the store for the first time thinking i was going to walk out of there with a new hand gun. But honestly i left disappointed because i was there for 10 min and no one acknowledge that i was there. It wasnt till i made sye contact with a sales rep. Then i guess he just delt obligated at that point. Anyways i will be taking my money else were. Its to bad because i really wanted to support a local shop.. oh and a side note, just because i dont have a cowboy hat on nor a heavy country accent, doesnt mean you should over look me. Thats just how i felt could be wrong. But ok Cabelas it is...

Best fly shop in Texas. They have everything you need and theyre incredibly helpful. The people who have written negative reviews are either crazy, ridiculously entitled, or both. Every time I go in, needing flies for a different area of the country or different season, theres always someone there to help me figure out what the hatch is and what flies will work. The owner, Greg, has helped me several times himself and is a great conversationalist. Sportsmans is the gold standard. Support your local fly shop and go to Sportsmans finest.

I could not have asked for better help and service from the entire staff at Sportsmans. After recently relocating to Austin from the Mountain West, I had a lot to ask about Texas fly fishing rivers and streams. The guys were great to talk to and provided a comprehensive knowledge of the rivers, hatches, flows, and accesses. They invited me to their fly tying classes and gave me info on the local fly fishing clubs and the Trout Unlimited chapter. Will go back for sure.

Prices are high and the employees are know it alls. Im a Marine vet primary marksmanship instructor and currently a CHL instructor who buys a lot of guns, every time Im in there I here them giving first time buyers bad advice. I sometimes dont get any help in the place even after looking for up to 20 minutes at times. I do love to go there though because they have a large selection, so I can handle whatever gun I am interested in then I go somewhere else to buy it.

Bought my first gun here when I was 21. I was not very knowledgable about hand guns so I had a lot of questions to ask. They were very helpful and informative. Compared to the other places I shopped they were the best. As far as price goes I have yet been able to find a store that can beat them in price. The gun I bought I have seen for as much as $100 more at other shops. Prices are great and they are ready to listen and help.

I went in today to check out the place, since I live nearby and wanted to support local business. Needless to say, the service was beyond horrible. Never will I frequent this establishment again. If you want to get lectured by two angry old men, then ask the question, "Am I able to check what you have online?" After ten minutes of condescending fluff, I left, money still in my pocket.

Dont go to this place. I recently went to purchase a scope and bipod for my new rifle and to have their gunsmith mount them. After waiting for 20 minutes they decided that they couldnt ever help me. "They were just too busy!" I bet there were not 5 people in the entire store. Very unprofessional and unhelpful. I will not go back.

They did have some specialty items but when my husband asked about the gun he was considering buying, the man behind the gun counter got short with him. Go figure. Im in agreement with the others...Prices were high.
