I recently became a Valero customer from another supplier. I am disappointed because the pumps (at least at the Jolleyville stations) do not let you click set the handle to pump a full tank to fill it up. It shuts off automatically 3 times during a fill up. Since I always fill up from almost empty, this is pretty inconvenient. I have gone inside twice to see if it is something I am doing, but the clerks are no help at all. Apparently the manager is only there 6 am - noon so I am not likely to bump into him/her. Since I dont like to stand outside in the heat or cold with gas fumes up my nose holding the nozzle until the tank is full, I am considering moving to the gas station at the 7-11 on that corner that always has the same gas prices as the Valero station. Question: Does Valero have a policy of not being able to have the nozzle hold the pump setting automatically until it reaches a full tank? Is it a requirement that the customer has to stand at the pump and hold the nozzle and squeeze the trigger for as long as it takes to fill up?

Management courteously fixed an issue I had with a particular pump that would keep stopping mid-fill, after I emailed them about it. This station doesnt play loud music, blare annoying ads at me while I pump, or annoy me with anything. I can fill up in peace. I never thought Id have a favorite gas station, but this one is far more peaceful for me than any other. I just noticed that this issue I had them fix a couple of months ago (and they checked *all* the pumps on the lot too) was the same one N. Hatchett reported on in another review here, how it was shutting off multiple times in the middle of a fill-up. Exactly the issue I was having and what they fixed (I used the same malfunctioning pump several times over a few weeks to be sure it wasnt happening anymore).

A Private User

There is a rude creepy old man that has been working here for awhile. He is very unprofessional and racist towards me, as I frequent this place 1-2 times a week. He works in the evening and I often observe him treating other with disrespect as well as I wait in line. Do yourself a favor and go to the Exxon down the street.

This store has really improved - nice a clean, friendly counter staff, good fountain selection. These guys are now a "Corner Store" and have a much larger selection of food and snacks then you might be used to from the old Valero. They are usually a couple of cents cheaper on gas than the 7-11 down the street.
