The Red Wolf

It is awesome. Been there yesterday on Saturday. I went there to choose which graduation gift I wanted(yes,Im an 8th grader). Out of my peripheral vision,I saw a very awesome looking loco(more like 2 locos i wanted),a Lionel TMCC C&O 2-6-6-2 Mallet,and the Lionel Legacy U.P. DDA35,and they were awesome. They had excellent prices,both for over $500. I truly loved that store the first time I walked in over a year ago. I recommend going there. Very great for Christmas shopping and for giving gifts for someone anytime of year,or even buying something for yourself like smoke fluid if you have a Lionel or MTH train with an operating smoke unit. Sorry this is so long. I love this store,you should pay a visit. :) The new 2014 catalog mallet is WAY more expensive than the version I saw,Id say the 2013-14 price is around $1,200-$2,500 depending on which mallet(Legacy,JLC,or VisionLine)you will buy. If I go there again a day before graduation,and if they have any version of the 4-8-8-4 Big Boy(TMCC 4006,JLC 4023,VisionLine,or Legacy),I will change my mind and totally get the Big Boy instead. You should TOTALLY pay a visit,especially if you have kids. :) Plus the staff are really nice. (Well at least the guy who sells the Lionel and MTH trains was nice) Other than that,very awesome store. :)

Although they have a great selection of toys the attitudes of the staff are unacceptable. I was shopping with my well behaved three year old and she was treated as if she was getting into trouble by the watchful staff. They have ride on toys in the store but as soon as she hoped on one she was stopped by one of the workers because it is apparently just too dangerous to ride in the store. Not sure why they have them out of the boxes if riding them is not ok. I waited a while to be helped at checkout and felt I was putting the lady out to check me out. Nothing friendly was offered, only "debit or credit...sign" not even a please. I was buying a gift and some other items but was not offered gift wrap, my things were quickly stuffed in my bag. When I asked if I could get one of the items wrapped she looked at me as if I was asking a huge favor and asked it it was a birthday or Christmas gift, "because we dont wrap Christmas gifts." I usually shop online because of the convenience and competitive prices but went to Phillips in order to help support our local economy....not sure Ill do that here again.

If I was rating this store on product and location alone, theyd probably get 5 stars. BUT, I am big on customer service and kindness. I actually shop here quite often (I spend regularly on gifts for 7 children), but the only thing that keeps me coming back is the location and unique gifts. I have never seen a smile out of what I assume are the owners (older man and 2 older women). I have been treated very coldly everytime even after my efforts to lighten up the atmosphere. My children have accompanied me a few times and are followed through the store as though they may hurt something (they are very quiet, calm children). The business and customers would benefit greatly if the employees had some customer service training (I didnt realize some people have to be trained to smile)...a little friendliness and a smile goes a long way :)

Upon walking in to the store we were greeted with a rude statement from a male staff member. Despite his rudeness I let my children browse since I had promised the treat for good grades. The store was very cramped. Not 5 minutes pass before a child runs out of nowhere directly into my cart. Her father comes up as Im checking on her and glares at me like Im satan reincarnated. We left our cart in the middle of the store and walked out. Rude staff. Rude clientele. What a damper on the day. We wont be back.

Ive shopped at Phillips for 40 years now, for children and now grandchildren. There are some interesting and unique items there, and if your kids are into trains, it can be a fun outing. However, unless you are one of their approved clientele (not sure how to get on that list!), the staff is generally not helpful and at times very rude, so expect to be treated poorly. If you are not, consider yourself lucky!

I stumbled upon this toy store over the weekend and decided to take a peek. I fell in love! They have an amazing selection of toys - especially for younger kids...toys that you dont see in other stores. And I thought there prices were reasonable and the staff was SUPER friendly. No complaints!

This is such a fun place to shop! Its filled with Stuffed animals, doll houses, puppets, dolls, dress up outfits for children, doll clothes, trucks, tractors, educational toys, old fashion toys, play weapons, and best of all a model train dept. with everything you could possibly need.

This is the best toy store I have ever been in my life. Great for adults and kids. Their selections are so diverse with tons to view in dolls, Playmobil, and everything you could imagine. I could spend the whole day in there.

I always enjoy taking my grandson there to buy gifts, but mostly to watch the trains. They are always very helpful and have a great selection of toys. My grandson and I love the place.

Selection, service, and location are great. Several things on our Christmas list werent available at bigger stores but found here. Im never going to the "big box" stores for toys again.

Amazing toy store!! Could get lost here for hours. Great selection of childrens books, baby gift items, toy trains, stuffed animals, pretty much anything you are looking for.
