I took my vehicle in because my air conditioning had stopped working. I let them know i had to be at work in 30 minutes but i could be a little late. I understand you cant expect to just get right in because you have somewhere to be. However after an hour of waiting i noticed my car hadnt even been moved from the lot. I had even ask them if i should drop it and just get a ride to work and they said there was no need. So i asked the clerk if he could hurry them up and after another 30 minutes they finally looked at it. It took them about 5 minutes to tell me what was wrong and say it would cost $350 to fix. I left but then called back about an hour later to make an appointment to get the part replaced i needed. They had made up a quote for me on exactly what i needed so i know it was in the system. I made an 8AM appt for a few days later and after i drove all the way across town for it, i waited twenty minutes for them to tell me they did not have the part. I had some choice words for the clerk(which i feel bad about because i know it was not his fault) but what kind of business does not make sure they have the part in stock when someone makes an appointment?! I asked if i could speak with whoever made me the appointment so i could address the discretion and the clerk said he did not know(which im assuming was a lie). I then asked for my keys and left. I will NEVER be back there again. I took my car to Tuckers auto medic off of 4th, dropped it off the next day and picked it up that afternoon and came out $50 bucks cheaper than what Pep Boys quoted me. Wont EVER be back again.Such a waste of my time. A lot of the mechanics seemed to be standing around when i watched them and obviously had no regard for their customers time. Obviously there is an issue in management and service altogether.

Tried to charge me $900 for a fix that cost $200 down the street. also told me I needed "two new front shocks" when I had just bought 4 shocks there AT THAT SAME STORE earlier in the month. When I pointed this out to them, the manager went to "check on them himself," after which he said the original mechanic who said that "had been mistaken," and the front shocks were, in fact, "brand new." I have a SNEAKING suspicion they were trying to rip me off (hope you catch the sarcasm). I had also asked them to balance and rotate my tires. They refused to, citing that my tires were in such bad shape, they couldn’t be rotated. They then tried to sell me tires. I then took the tires to Firestone, who informed me that the tires were “fine,” just a little worn, and after which rotated them promptly. PepBoys were trying their best to get me to spring for new tires. In fact, they had the nerve to call me about a week later asking if I wanted to buy some tires. Basically, these guys were blatantly trying to rip me off. I WILL be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

My experience with Roger in the tires department was horrible. There was some miscommunication about how the tires were paid for when ordered online. Pep Boys let my brother pick up the tires from the store. He and I both assumed the tires were paid for since i gave my card information online. Per Roger, that doesnt pay for them but holds them....who knew. So now that Pep Boys has presumably given away free tires, Roger is calling me talking to me like i STOLE the tires! My phone wasnt even on speaker phone we he called me & my husband could hear the way Roger was disrespecting me, like I was some kind of rogue theif when all we did was accept the tires from their store clerk! Bottom line, this place will make their mistake seem like yours & talk horribly down to their customers. Will never do business with them AGAIN!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. If I could give zero stars I would.. I would recommend saving yourself time and a headache and go somewhere with decent service. I scheduled an appointment with them and once I got there, there was no one inside at the service desk. A lady was there and said "All I can do is keep paging someone" so I waited and waited, finally went outside and asked the service guys if I can get any help. They said the manager has to do it and I asked for the manager multiple times.... Waited and waited. Finally 20 mins go by without any help and one of the service guys said and I quote "Our manager is in a bad mood and he doesnt want to talk today" ... I left after that point. Without any answer as to why i was never helped or why no one was there to help me EVEN WHEN I MADE AN APPOINTMENT.

Again for the Charlotte Ave location. Stopped in for a quick puncture repair and they did get the car in right away... but then they blocked the car in with a trailer that they were changing tires on. Ended up waiting about 20 minutes longer than I needed to , and on top of that they were resting the tires for the trailer against my car. Spoke with the Service Rep and he said he would talk to the guys, I watched as he went out back to talk to them and they were shrugging it off and laughing, they really didnt seem to care. I am in the market for new tires and plan on buying within the next 2 weeks, but will definitely not be buying from Pep Boys even though I have been shopping there for many years. IM NOT IMPRESSED PEP BOYS, and am sorry to say you have lost my business for sure.

Had terrible service. I had a nail in my tire and they said it would take a couple hours so I left them the tire and came back for it later. After they told me that the tire was ready, I stood at a counter and waited 20 minutes for someone to help me. Then they couldnt find my warranty in their system and spent another 15 minutes looking that up. Finally, someone ROLLED my tire up to me at the counter and didnt even offer to put it back on my car for me! I said, "Is someone going to put that on my car for me?" It is appalling that they would expect me to put it back on myself. The only reason I give this two stars and not one is because it was free with my warranty. I would recommend Firestone CompleteAuto on Broadway. Much faster, better service

I had a very pleasant experience today at Pep Boys (Charlotte location). Considering I did not have an appointment they got me in and out in a timely manner. Normally I am weary of salesmen and mechanics trying to up sell me, overcharge me, or try to tell me I need to add a service when I really dont. There was none of that. The clerk at the front desk, Gary, was extremely helpful and professional and made sure to get me the best deal and truly did save me some money. I have never written a review on any business but I was so pleased. Thanks again to Gary for saving me some $$
