Yesterday the play area was "closed for cleaning" during normal hours, yet no one was cleaning it. We went back today, and all the kids were playing so well together. The mall manager came out with 3 security guards as backup and yelled at us repeated that the parents "need to get their kids noise levels under control" while she waived her walkie-talkie in threatening ways toward us. About 5 minutes later, young officer Fitzgerald came and rudely and abrutly instructed everyone to get out of the play area so they could clean it. This was at 4pm during normal hours of operation. He confirmed it was due to noise complaints and told us which stores complained. Jewell Rush, Cool Shades kiosk, and Vanity were the complaintants. During the entire time we were there, these businesses had no customers. We asked to speak to the manager, and she escalated her arguments. She also implied that my 6 year old was not a toddler and had no business being in the area, when the rules clearly state it is for children not exceeding 42" in height (he is well within guidelines). She made my children feel wrong for playing and belittled them. I WAS a paying customer, but I will no longer spend my money at this place of business. I will be filing a formal complaint with management, mall ownership, and contacting media outlets as other reviews show that this happens often. I will not let my children, nor any other children, be bullied for playing in a public play area.

So disgusted with the treatment I and several other families received today at this mall. Several children were playing at the enclosed play area at a normal noise level. This play are is in an alcove of the mall, with tiles floor surrounding and a high ceiling so sound carries.A female employee shows up with 2 male "security officers" and told us all the be quiet. Not sure why she felt she needed security to be present. Not 5 minutes later officer Fitzgerald came to the area and loudly and abruptly announced the area was being closed to be cleaned and we all needed to get out immediately. When asked if the area was actually being closed because of normal children noise he replied yes. Management couldnt be bothered to come speak to the upset parents, we had to go to her. She informed us that the mall was there for business and not for kids to play. Then why have a play area? Why insist on sending the youngest and most rude security boy you have to unceremoniously throw out 15+kids and their families? We obviously will never be back. I would encourage families with children to look elsewhere at the many other shopping options in Rutherford County. Stones River Mall doesnt want your kids, or their noise, or their parents money.

With local competition of the nearby "outdoor mall" The Avenue, the Stones River Mall looks like its struggling. Closed stores, gated doors, and empty kiosks are a regular sight. With a whopping 3 choices in the food court, its difficult to not to compare it to what local 90s teens might remember from the failed Hickory Hollow Mall in Antioch. BUT - there are still great shops doing well that The Avenue does not have. With places like Hot Topic, JcPenney, and Dillards - its still a good place to shop for good deals. Restaurants are all over Old Fort Parkway, but you have great choices without crossing the street. Its well maintained and clean, and has free wifi!

We went to eat out for my birthday March 4th and what a horrible experience. We try from Olive Garden to Cheddars, to TGI Friday. We end up at Friday because of the wait time was cut in half. They were short in staff, the bathrooms were awful and they promise a cake and ice cream for me and it never arrived. I didnt ask for one, she offer it, and the person she designated for it, was not responsible enough. Unfortunately some people work for money others love what they do. Big difference, but what do i know. It was just my birthday... go figure...

Ive been coming to this mall for years. I go here most of the time, because theirs a Sephora in their Jc Pennys. Over the years, they have built alot more stores, and cool little places/shops in there, and I think Stones River is a bit more appealing these days. Theirs a little something for everyone in there. Its worth stopping by. It used to be a crappy mall, but its definitely gotten better. Only thing I dont like, is theirs not a food court anymore, which is sad. Other than that, they are soon going to have a MAC cosmetics in their Dillards!

I had to use the bathroom & was scared because it was in back of mall down a narrow hallway & bunch of men in hallway looking at my mom & I. Then there was men & woman bathroom and only 2 of these (single co-ed rooms) Im sorry but I dont want my daughter to see a mans messy urunal! Not only did I feel unsafe but mens bathrooms are just plain nasty & I wouldnt want to change a babys dipper in that gross place & I almost didnt use the bathroom either only did because I had to & there was no place else too!!!!

Its okay for a (s)mall. Maybe because I grew up going only to Hickory Hollow Mall and it was much larger... At least for the time, probably not when compared to todays Malls such as Opry Mills. So I guess it just reminds me more of an indoor strip mall. But that is just my opinion. Having said that, Now that I live in Murfreesboro I do go there often for what I need. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

The mall has very little left in it to make it an attractive shopping experience anyways, but what officially made me stop visiting was when I was issued a "parking violation" for being parked after what their security considers "after hours." You shouldnt have a sports grill on your premises if you dont want late night parking to occur. I will take my business to The Avenue from now on.

The reason why this gets a one. They took down JCPennys, books a million, and The food court and a bit more. I have no pictute for proof. But if you go you will see. JCPenny did move there place. Yet, they probably took it down for a reason. BUT WHY DIDNT YOU TAKE CHUCKY CHEESE DOWN LIKE THAT PLACE IS CREEPY! Edit: They put books a million some were else...And JCPennys is still there!

A nice mall with several teen and college age clothing stores as well as a book store but its small size and lack of good variety means it quickly gets boring if you live in the area. Rumor has it they may remove the food court which would be a huge downside since its a great place to bring your laptop and use the WiFi and grab a quick lunch before shopping.

Excellent Mall with a variety is clothing, furnishing, services, and entertainment. A little light on food (inside the actaul mall) and the surrounding streets and bussinesses make it a little confusing to find. It is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and big box department stores. Pretty easy find everything you need in the general area!

Fun place to shop, and even hang out. They have a big kids play area in the middle of the mall so while my husband shopped at Books-A-Million me and my 2 year old son and infant daughter were able to hang out and play and stay occupied. We had our own good time while letting Daddy get some shopping done too!
