I was passing by the store one day on my way to Chattanooga and stopped in to take a look. At first sight, I was very impressed with their inventory of Black Guns. While I was there I met Assistant Manager Joel Rader. He was very knowledgeable of the Barrett line of rifles. I was particularly impressed with their fair prices on ammo and weapon sights. I purchased a BORS sighting solution system for my Barrett M107A1 and a matching Night Force 8-32 X 56 scope. The following day, I called Joel to ask a simple question about the installation of the scope. He immediately informed me that he had mistakenly sold me a Red Dot Night Force scope that was not compatible with the BORS sight we had selected. He was very apologetic and assured me that this issue would be corrected immediately. After he consulted with Barrett Firearms, he asked me to ship the weapon, scope and BORS to him at their expense. Upon receipt of the M107A1, Joel made arrangements with Barrett for Barrett to install the scope and BORS. After everything was installed, Barrett proceeded to update the firmware in the BORS, program it for the Night Force scope and finally bore sight the complete assembly. This has been the best mistake that ever happened to me. I am on my way back to Outpost Armory to pick up my weapon and take it to the range. Everyone at Outpost Armory was very helpful, friendly, and professional. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to purchase any type of gun, ammo or shooting accessory.

Not the first time Ive been in this place over the yrs but I think its the last theyre prices are always high but Ive repeatedly returned because I pass them regularly and they have a huge selection and generally Id rather buy in person than order online but last couple times Ive been in there including this one today theyre unhelpful and borderline rude. Today I went in there with the express purpose of purchasing a few items after being in the store for a few min I approached a gentleman behind the counter who wasnt dealing with a customer and was simply boxing up a gun. I asked him my first question which was about a stock he gave me an abrupt nope we dont carry it picked up his box and walked away. Stayed in there about extra 30 min after that and wasnt approached one time tho several sales people were standing around talking to each other and there was hardly any other customers present. Personally if youd rather box up a gun thats already in your inventory rather than simply talk to a customer who was prepared to purchase a Remington AR 22 ark angel stock magazines and piccanty rails depending on what you had available then you dont deserve my business and Ill be taking it to the smaller shops near me that seam to appreciate it.

Called Tuesday and asked them to hold 2 m&p 15s. They did. They also confirmed the price of $599 each as advertised on their website. "No problem and see you Friday," is what they said. Friend and I went Friday to buy the guns. They were on hold like told, but price had been raised to $679 each. When asked about the price and the price increase, they said it was because of "recent current events." (Dallas shootings). I then pulled up their website where the $599 cost was STILL advertised. They said they could not honor the $599 price but would take off $20. So I asked about ordering online. They said I could and get that price. I thanked them for their time and told them that I would like the original price and $60 bucks saved is $60 bucks earned. Well when I got home to order, the price was raised. I only live 5 minutes away. Overall the experience was poor. To not honor your own advertised price was lame. To dance around the error and not own up to it, sucked. I would understand if they got a new shipment that was higher prices, but it was literally the same stock. In review, shop around, ask questions, and verify their own site. Then go somewhere else. Good selection, but just not great business sense.

I was there in early Dec. on the way home from a road trip to Atlanta. When I walked in the place had almost no customers (it was raining). The employees were basically goofing off. No one greeted me. No one offered help. My questions were either ignored or a half answer grunt was given. They were rude and not helpful. I asked a female employee where the 9mm ammo was. She said "Ov nar" and pointed somewhere randomly. I found it on my own. I went into the pistol area and asked for assistance the employee was more interested in his coffee than helping me. He said he would be right back but never returned. Another employee arrived and asked "wadda yall need". I asked to see a Kimber compact 1911. The employee open the case and shoved one in my hand. Then looked off and ignored me. I left with my money still in my pocket.I handed the pistol back, he locked it up and walked off. These people are redneck idiots without any understanding of salesmanship. There are many choices in TN. Go elsewhere.

Not going back. I have bought many items from this local gun shop (3 high end guns and many accessories) but I will not be back after the last visit. Bought scope rings less than a week ago, installed them, and realized I had bought the wrong ones. Tried to exchange them for different ones but they said since they were taking out of the package they could not exchange them. They were never used and I had the original package, original contents, and receipt when I brought them back. I could have bought the same ones at WalMart for cheaper and BETTER EXCHANGE POLICY but always try to support our local gun stores. I will be doing my business elsewhere after this experience and would encourage anyone asking what is the exchange policy before doing business. THERE ARE TOO MANY BUSINESSES OUT THERE FOR THIS KIND OF NONSENSE

We were headed back to Indiana and we saw a ton of advertisements for this shop along the interstate, so we decided to pop in and see what it was all about. I had yet to buy my first gun at the time of our visit, so I was interesting in looking at a variety of handguns. The woman who assisted me was fantastic. She made me feel at ease and didnt try to talk to me like I was an idiot. She answered every question I had and we discussed other options for self defense in the case that I cannot carry my future gun. They have a very large selection, more than I had ever seen at any of our local gun shops. I highly recommend stopping in to talk to the staff and check out what they have. Chances are if you are looking for it, they have it. If they dont, they can get it.

Im not sure some of these complainers were in the same shop as I was. Ive bought three guns there in the last month. I was greeted pleasantly each time. I shopped around and all their prices were below MSRP and comparable to other places. Some of the chain stores have a slightly lower price but I tend to buy local and am willing to spend a few bucks more to do so. I bought a S&W Bodyguard with a laser for $379. You cant beat that deal. The same gun w/o the laser was $359 and Academy had it for $349. For $10 Ill buy local any day. Their gun selection cant be touched by other local or chains stores. They have all the hard to find ammo. Ive always been well treated at this store.
