I was employed here for well over 6 months and was never put on the books. I had one altercation with a disruptive customer (who weve had problems with before with other employees) and the owner Rusty Ottoway fired me on the spot without even listening to what I had to say. Not only will I be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau, but I also want to make it known to anybody reading this that theyre basically stealing your money. Theyre selling reject stamped plywood as "seconds" and charging you for just that. The units say rejects but employees are told to spray paint over it. They also have their employees burn treated lumber scraps in an authorized burn barrel, knowing how toxic the fumes of burning pressure treated lumber are. I urge everyone reading this to take this in to consideration when considering making a purchase here; theyre not paying taxes on employees wages because theyre never put on the books in the first place, theyre selling rejected lumber as seconds, and they really dont give a blank about their employees. Good luck to anyone who thinks their garbage will work for them; after working here and knowing the ins and outs of this business, and how I was treated as an employee, this place should be permanently shut down by some type of higher authority.

having worked their for over a year I can assure everyone that jeffs comments are about as untrue as they come. discount building supplies of loris is an honest business run by honest people in every way. I own a busy construction company and buy material from HD, LOWES, BLANTONS,MB BUIDING SUPPLY & DBS. The most honest easiest and friendly to deal with is DISCOUNT BUILDING SUPPLY OF LORIS and they are lowest cost on average. They will go out of their way for any customer always and far beyond what the other guys offer as help. its just stupid to bad mouth people like the ones at DBS because you got fired for telling off a customer, because you were wrong, not them period. its just sad how disgruntled employees can be, especially when the employers are almost always great people that did a lot for these unappreciative people.which is exactly the story here. Shop and support DISCOJUNT BUILDING SUPPLIES OF LORIS period. its places like this that barely exist anymore because of big business. DBS aint been there 20 years because they are dishonest. they work hard to survive against the big guys and do it with good values principles decency and honesty. shop local support small business if you want a better way. a world of only walmarts and home depots is scary
