Visited this store on June 28th. Requested help from the young lady at the counter and she reached out to staff. A gentleman responded and once I told him what I needed help with, he immediately explained that there was no way he could tell me what blade I needed for my edger. I wasnt understanding so he showed me the blades he had in the store. I explained to him that the last gentleman helped me by seeing which blade would fit my edger. The gentlemen proceeded with saying he could not do that because the store was busy and he didnt have any available staff to assist me being that he was short due to staff being at lunch. I asked him if he could tell or show me what tools I needed and he explained, he didnt have time. I proceeded to find my own tools and requested assistance again because what I needed had to be removed from the shelf by the associate. Another gentleman assisted me and he was pleasant. I went to the counter to explain to the cashier that I was purchasing the equipment but in order to get the rest of what I needed, I had to remove the old blade. I had the hardest time with the tool and the 1st gentleman approached me. I asked if he could show or tell me why the tool wasnt working and he went on to say that he could not do so and no from the store should have done it in the beginning. I understood but wasnt a about to buy a tool, I could not work or get to work. His response was, you werent paying attention when the guy did it? Perhaps you should go to Driggers in Summerville where they remove parts for the customer. I grabbed my tool and wallet and proceeded out the door, before completely leaving I asked what was the difference between the guy that was standing outside with an associate asking for help. He explained the guys issue was different and didnt concern me. When I called back to speak with the manager and request the number to the corporate office, I was told to look it up on the internet. The gentleman proceeded with saying he was the owner and he remembered my interaction with his manager and they have nothing to say to me and hung up the phone. I called back and a young lady answered, I requested the corporate office information again and she stated, she was told not to talk to me and do not call back. Cant get any racist or more prejudice than this folks!!

I couldnt post this without filling in the stars, so I was forced to fill in ONE, but they dont deserve any! I have never been so rudely treated, and it turns out the worst of the experience was by the OWNER of Duncan Ace Hardware store in Goose Creek. I called to complain about the horrific service and mistreatment, but the manager wasn’t in, and I was referred to the same terrible man as THE OWNER!! Service in general was rude in seeking help to quickly locate an item, and pricing not much better than DOLLAR GENERAL!! But after the owner purposely blocked my vehicle in parking a UHAUL rental, and treated me so badly, I will never return to that store again, and will follow with a letter to ACE corporate office, despite the snobby lady boasting, “this is a locally owned store!” Guess she doesnt understand what FRANCHISE means! :(

NEVER risk spending more than $2.00 at this Ace Hardware. I purchased a trailer receiver and ball to replace the one that was already there. Discovered an hour later that it was not what I needed. Walked into the store and was refused a refund. Had I drove a few miles to Advance Auto, Lowes, or Home Depot, I would have received a friendly, no questions, no hassles refund. The Ace team was rude and took joy in lecturing me that they do not "lend tools." Do yourself a favor, purchase your goods where they have a customer satisfaction policy and a history of great refunds. These guys have NEITHER. Anyone need a 5" drop receiver? Shop anywhere else, anywhere!

Have stopped in several times over the years but staff has never been very helpful or acknowledged me when i enter the store but that is typical with stores now a days. Today was the last straw, not realizing they close at 6.00 pm I wanted to make an inquiry about trailor rentals. I literally had the door slammed in my face and was told we can talk about it at 8.00 am tomorrow. No we wont!!!!

I went to Lowes and all I heard was crickets. No one ever around to help. Walked in here and a guy immediately greeted me like they do at most Ace and asked if I needed help finding anything. I said I did and he handed me off to a guy who helped me find exactly what I needed. In and out in less than 10min. Im not sure about those other people below but Ive always had a pleasant experience.

Sitting in my wheelchair outside the store, I watched as ome of your employees literally slammed the door in my wifes face almost 10 minutes BEFORE your listed closing time. We own a small business and in 26 years we have NEVER treated a customer like that. No Wonder ACE TRUE VALUES are dying off. Maybe with employees like that its a good thing that Yall close early.

Im a US Army Soldier I went in to rent a hand dolly for 1hr. They told me since I do not possess a South Carolina drivers license and a North Carolina license instead, I cannot rent the dolly! Really I live right beside the store! They will not recieve my business in the future!

I love this place. I bring my son and we are given space to explore while excellent help is always just around the corner. Go here first and if they just dont have what you need they will tell you the best place to go get it. Just a great place!

Less than a star, walked in 10 mins to close, had 5 items in my hand to purchase within 3 min, in the five min I was there 4 different people were rushing me out the door, they didnt want my business. Never will I go there again

Fantastic, classic hardware store. Great for quick trips, super reasonable pricing. They dont do Ace Rewards but the real reward is expert know-how from a friendly staff. Try to avoid parking in front of the garden loading dock!
